Yes Job Summary The Oregon Coast STEM Hub is seeking a Coordinator. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position. This position is located at the Hatfield Marine Science Center (HMSC), which houses the Oregon Coast STEM Hub (OCSH), researchers, educators, and resource managers from Oregon State University, Oregon Sea Grant and state and federal agencies. A wide variety of workshops, field trips, and short courses are offered for the public, schoolteachers, K-12 students, and other groups both onsite and elsewhere. OCSH is currently seeking a Coordinator who will support the OCSH Director with educator professional development, community events, and student activities to support HUB initiatives such as STEM Early Learning and Career Connected Learning (job shadows, internships, etc.). This employee will plan, organize, coordinate, evaluate and participate in activities for the OCSH. They will provide communications support and will monitor and report metrics against program goals and will interact with internal and external collaborators and stakeholders to build program support. The function requires interaction with a diverse group of stakeholders and partners. The OCSH is a regional cross-sector collaborative that works to improve and guide integrated science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education in Oregon coastal communities. This Hub is a collective impact partnership that is supervisen by Oregon Sea Grant and is part of a larger statewide network of STEM Hubs funded and supported by the Oregon Department of Education. The OCSH is charged with leading the efforts of partners to create and deliver STEM educational programs designed to break through systemic barriers, provide inclusive access, open opportunities, and build confidence in K-12 students. Key Responsibilities 45% Plans, coordinates, and implements OCSH strategy and activities » Assists with grant writing and reporting in support of STEM programming efforts. » Develops, implements, and evaluates programs for OCSH outreach and education to reach targeted audiences significant to the mission of OCSH and as articulated in the OCSH Partnership Plan. » Works with partners to develop and facilitate professional development for educators in our region, as well as STEM and Career Connected Learning activities and camps for youth, with a focus on diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility. 35% Relationship building and partnership development » Establishes, manages, and maintains internal and external relationships to retain skills and resources to promote and deliver STEM programs and services, including but not limited to OSU faculty, county and state agencies, government entities, volunteers, and community organizations. » Creates and maintains processes to facilitate active communication between program participants, volunteers, stakeholders, sponsors, partners, and faculty. » Represents OCSH through participation and support at public outreach events and conferences. » Leads and/or serves on internal and external committees. » Attends regional and statewide meetings and events to help facilitate and support partners and participants. 10% Data collection and reporting » Collects, compiles, and analyzes data; prepares reports and documents. 5% Volunteer recruitment and management » Identifies and recruits a diverse group of volunteers to support the needs of the STEM Hub and partners. » Trains volunteers to participate in STEM activities and maintains records of training and activities, including youth safety training. 5% Professional development and other tasks as assigned » Attends appropriate in-service activities, seminars, workshops, and classes to maintain core competencies in areas related to position responsibilities and to develop new competencies. » Supports other projects and events as needed. » Consistently demonstrates a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, justice and accessibility.
