Position DescriptionSummaryUnder the guidance of the Department Chair of Biotechnology, serve as the Lead Corporate Training Biotechnology instructor and as the industry liaison to develop and teach biopharma curricula. In addition, this person will actively participate and supervise the continued growth and operation of the Workforce Development Center's BioSWE (a biopharma simulated work environment that allows students and incumbent workers hands-on practice with equipment in a controlled environment). Essential tasks and Responsibilities include the following. Other tasks may be assigned. » Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for biopharma open enrollment and customized courses taught in the Biotechnology Department. » Support industry partners with instructing Onboard Training and continuing education courses for their incumbent workforce. » Create and instruct new industry specific courses to help grow the program and maintain program relevancy as the industry progresses in the age of digital technology » Collaborate, on occasion, with the Customized Training Program Director to develop course material and provide training specifically for the Biotech industries in the region as Information technology relates to project agreements. » Maintain lab materials and equipment for inventory and operational purposes for open enrollment and customized training in BioSWE and designated lab space. » Ensure proper lab materials and set up are available for courses such as but not limited to preparing chemical solutions, preparing media, cleaning glassware, and restocking supplies as needed. » Market and recruit for open enrollment biopharma classes and assist students and potential students with questions and inquiries about course offerings. » Serve on internal and external committees as requested. » Participate in professional organizations and associations. » Maintain personal certifications and stay up-to-date in latest biotechnologies. » supervise and/or participate in grants related to the upscaling of the BioSWE. » Adhere to JCC faculty guidelines and requirements located in the College's Personnel Manual » Performs other tasks as assigned managery Job responsibilities: This job has no managery responsibilities.
