How will your days be spent » Support practiced science planner(s) with various project responsibilities. May work on multiple, simultaneous projects. » Begin to participate in planning exercises. Start to deal with planning issues including departmental relationships and programming parameters. » Participate in client and user group interviews for needs assessment and implement lab planning documentation. Begin to understand lab equipment and its impact on research spaces. » Begin attending client meetings to observe the presentation process and sometimes participate. » Assist in developing lab programming and planning parameters, including lab functional models, lab staffing, and detailed lab design for client meetings. » Begin developing work relationships with team members and consultants to ensure an integrated project is on schedule and within budget. » Begin to understand the principles of sustainable design. Incorporate those principles in all planning and design decisions. What you bring to this function practice: » Minimum of three years of recent science planning practice with a focus on master planning, programming, and developing large complex laboratory facilities required. » A broad base of practice with a focus in science and technology facilities for academic, bio-pharmaceutical, government, or process planning preferred. » Projects completed with multiple clients ideal. » Basic expertise of codes, standards, and guidelines as related to labs, individual municipalities, State, IBC, ADA, ANSI, NFPA, NSF, cGMP, and cGLP. Software: » Revit proficiency required. » Previous practice with AutoCAD preferred. suitable education » Associates degree in architecture, engineering, planning or related field required; architectural degree preferred. » Professional registration preferred. » Sustaincapability accreditation preferred.
