Posting DetailsPosition InformationPosting Number: 20112959 Position Title: Supply Chain Specialist FTE: 1.0 Employment type: Staff Department: TMAC Position Summary Information Job Summary/Basic Function: About this function: The position of Supply Chain Specialist will serve as an advisor to the local/regional manufacturing industry. The Supply Chain Specialist will be responsible for providing guidance to the manufacturing industry in the management and optimization of all aspects of the supply chain process in an organization. This includes planning, coordinating, and monitoring the movement of goods from the point of origin to the point of consumption. The Supply Chain Specialist will also analyze supply chain data to identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve efficiency and reduce costs of manufacturers in the Southeast Texas region. The Supply Chain Specialist will also be responsible for identifying, enrolling, and verifying manufacturers in the Texas Manufacturing Network using the electronic platform Sustainment. What You'll Do - Position Job responsibilities: 1. Strategic Planning: » Assist manufacturers in developing and implementing supply chain strategies. » Monitor performance metrics and perform trend analysis. » Work with manufacturers to implement actions that will mitigate risks and assist manufacturers meet performance objectives. 2. Process Improvement: » Analyze and improve supply chain processes for manufacturers. » Coordinate with clients to enhance quality, cost efficiency, and delivery speed. 3. Supplier Management: » Work with Manufacturers to evaluate and select suppliers. » Enroll Manufacturers in Sustainment. » Provide guidance on negotiating contracts and monitoring performance. 4. Risk Management: » Identify and resolve supply chain risks and discrepancies. » Develop contingency plans to mitigate risks. 5. Certification and Training: » Obtain significant certifications to provide skills and training to the industry. Key Competencies: » capability to analyze data and logistics to make sound decisions. » Identify and resolve issues quickly for smooth supply chain operations. » Excellent written and verbal communication skills. » Proficient in Microsoft Office and sustainment software. » Manage multiple tasks, track inventory, and meet deadlines. » Proficiency in supply chain management software and Information technology systems. » knowledge of procurement, logistics, and inventory management. » Work well in a team and coordinate with various departments. » Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Physical Requirements: » Frequently required to execute computer tasks such as typing etc. » Clear speech and good hearing for effective communication. » capability to move within office settings and between locations, including manufacturing sites. » Frequent standing and walking during site visits. » Navigate safely in manufacturing environments with potential exposure to noise and machinery. » Occasionally wear personal protective equipment (PPE) like safety glasses and ear protection. » Manual dexterity to work with manufacturing tools and equipment, including CNC machines and 3D printers. » Stand and present for extended periods during training sessions. » Occasionally lift and carry materials or tools up to 25 pounds. Job Conditions: » Occasional evening and weekend work. » Frequent regional travel to meet with manufacturers and clients.
