Posting DetailsPosition InformationPosting Number: 20113013 Position Title: Sports Dietitian FTE: 1.0 Employment type: Staff Department: Sports Performance Position Summary Information Job Summary/Basic Function: About this function: The Lamar University Director of Sports Nutrition function is intended for registered dietitians interested in pursuing a career in collegiate athletics. This position will allow the opportunity to work with Division I student-athletes, while also developing administrative skills (Ex. budgeting, inventory, etc.). The position will work directly with all 17 sports teams and will serve as the preceptor for the Dietetic Internship Graduate Level Program on-campus, while serving an integral function in the Lamar University Athletics Department. Position reports directly to the Strength & Conditioning Coordinator. What You'll Do - Position Job responsibilities: » Responsible for operational management of Lamar University Athletics Market Basket Nutrition Center » everyday food preparation for student athletes » Frequent consultation with teams and individual student athletes » Serves as mentor to student employees and volunteers » Coordinate recruitment and retention efforts of current/future student employees and volunteers » Other tasks as assigned by the Strength & Conditioning Coordinator Key Competencies: » capability to collaborate with other staff members within the Lamar University Athletics department and the Lamar University College of Education and Human Development » Must be receptive to feedback/constructive criticism and adaptable to a variety of situations » Excellent communication and presentation skills » capability to process scientific research and communicate information to student-athletes effectively and efficiently » Punctuality, work ethic, relicapability, adaptable, professional, detailed » knowledge and following of confidentiality/privacy rules and regulations » Strict adherence to established NCAA, Southland Conference, Lamar University and Texas State University System rules and regulations Physical Requirements: » Occasionally moves supplies and equipment up to 50 pounds Who We Are: Lamar University is an accessible global university for life-long learners with a passion for broad-located community engagement.
