The position is a 12-month faculty (or faculty equivalent) appointment with responsibilities in external relations and industry partnerships, facilitation of collaborative grantsmanship and research, public policy and government affairs, building collaborations within and outside of Clemson University, and WU D administration. Although this position does not have a formal teaching assignment, there will be opportunities for guest lecturing, seminar organization, and speaking engagements to represent Clemson WU D. The new director will be tasked with continuing and expanding the vision of the Institute and its function in promoting forest products worldwide. Qualifications Clemson University seeks a highly accomplished and visionary professional to lead the WU D. The prosperous candidate will have academic credentials and/or professional practice in wood design, wood construction, wood science, wood products, or wood engineering, that will allow the applicant to be appointed to Professor rank. expertise of forest management and sustaincapability of forests related to wood products is required. For candidates whose careers have been non-academic, Information technology is expected that they will have reached the highest levels of activity consistent with their individual path.
