The Administrative units include the Offices of the Dean, vice Dean, Associate Dean for Student Affairs, Associate Dean for Research, Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs, Associate Dean for Extramural Clinical Practices, adjunct Dean for Dental Education and Informatics, Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs, adjunct Dean for Academic Success and the adjunct Dean for Business Operations and Financial Affairs. The four academic departments are Surgical Sciences, Pediatric Dentistry, Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, General Dentistry and Foundational Sciences. Included in the mission of the School of Dental Medicine is to educate dental care providers (both dental students and dental residents) and to address the oral health care needs of the underserved population of North Carolina. The School of Dental Medicine meets these missions by operating dental clinics that provide both educational practices for the dental students and residents and provides dental care to the residents of North Carolina. These clinics occur in both Ross Hall in Greenville, North Carolina, as well as Community Service-Learning Centers located all over North Carolina. In order to operate these clinics, appropriate dental auxiliaries and clinical staff are needed. Job tasks The Administrative adjunct will provide administrative support to the Business Operations and Financial Affairs unit. This position works directly with the adjunct Dean for Business Operations and Financial Affairs and participates in all phases of planning, coordinating, and carrying out the administrative functions for this unit. The Administrative adjunct problem solves and establishes priorities in response to requests from key administrators as well as coordinates and tracks projects to ensure that projects are completed satisfactorily and in a timely manner. The position will work closely with all areas under the Business Operations and Financial Affairs unit and will assist with the administrative tasks to support Personnel Administration, Facilities Management, Patient Revenue Cycle and Budget and Accounting. The Administrative adjunct will also be a point of contact for the Dean's suite and attend and take minutes at the Dean's Executive Council meeting. DENTAL MEDICINE SUPPORT POSITION - NOT SUBJECT TO STATE HUMAN RESOURCES ACT.
