Min Hourly Rate $14.20 (Standard); $13.20 (Non-Urban); $15.45 (Portland Metro) Max Hourly Rate $21.00 (Standard); $18.50 (Non-Urban); $21.50 (Portland Metro) Position Summary Undergraduate Research adjunct Position at the Radiant Lab: This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (a maximum of 20 hours per week) Undergraduate Research adjunct position at the Radiant Lab in the School of Civil and Construction Engineering at Oregon State University (OSU). The Radiant Lab is recruiting Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering Management, and Architectural Undergraduate research adjuncts for Summer 2024 term. About the Radiant Lab: The Radiant Lab is led by Dr. Clotilde Pierson, an adjunct Professor of Architectural Engineering. Our mission is to advance expertise related to daylight in buildings and the practice of daylighting to enhance people's health, well-being, and performance, while minimizing energy consumption. Our research brings together insights from different disciplines, including engineering, architecture, chronobiology, computer science, urban planning, neuroscience, psychophysics, or public health. It is anticipated that the students will work between 10 and 20 hours per week during the summer 2024 term. Position tasks The project for which a student will be recruited is a research study aimed at assessing the light exposure of older adults to improve their sleep and decrease their risk of developing Alzheimer's disease. The tasks that the URA will have to complete include driving to the study participants' home (Corvallis-Portland area) with a graduate student, and helping in carrying and installing the equipment. This is a great opportunity for an undergraduate student interested in research to lgain about field studies and light measurements in an interdisciplinary research project.
