Overview

RES is seeking a  Banking Project Manager  with at least 3 years of banking practice for our  Mitigation Banking Hub . This position can be located at any of the major RES office locations (see the list below) and will support projects across the country.

 

Who is RES:  We are the nation’s largest and most practiced provider of ecological restoration and water resource solutions. To date, we have restored over 525 stream miles and 62,000 wetland acres, in addition to conserving and preserving 15,000 acres of endangered species habitats. RES operations include planting over 20,000,000 restorative trees and reducing over 280 tons of polluting nutrients. RES ecological solutions enable a balance of economic development and ecological sustaincapability.

 

The mission:  The Mitigation Banking Hub is a RES team dedicated to the discipline of mitigation banking, working in partnership with our regional teams across the nation to strategically grow and prosperously operate our mitigation bank portfolio. This new position  will be primarily focused on the front end of the bank development process including site selection and the initial stages of the bank approval process and will be solely focused on mitigation banking. Information technology will support RES where additional capacity is needed to advance mitigation banks in existing markets and to expand into new markets. 

 

Travel is expected 25% of the time, including overnight stays (RES provides per diem and accommodations). 

What your day-to-day might look like?

70% of the time you will be working on the development of new mitigation banks.  You will be working on a small team that is solely dedicated to the development of new mitigation banks.  The other team members will include a Banking Regulatory Specialist, a Banking Land Representative, a Banking Geospatial Analyst, and a Banking Project Administrator.  You will report to the Director of Bank Development within the Mitigation Hub.  You will be applying your project management expertise and leveraging the knowledge of the local region to ensure RES is pursuing the best available sites for mitigation bank development. Your primary contribution is expected to include driving site selection processes and drafting early-stage bank approval documents from a project management perspective.  Because this team will be comprised of a small number of practiced individuals, Information technology will also function in an interdisciplinary manner where team members are encouraged to help each other in whatever capacity is needed to make sure our projects are prosperous.

 

30% of your time you will be mentoring/coaching  – You will be helping to grow the level of mitigation banking practice across RES by coaching and mentoring.  This could include remote and office located interactions, as well as in the field at mitigation bank sites assisting with data collection and participating in agency site visits.

Qualifications

We would love to speak with you if you have many of the following:
   » Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in applied sciences, engineering, or similar field
   » 3+ years of practice in environmental permitting, functional assessments, or project management specific to mitigation bank projects
   » Strong project management practice focusing on planning and forecasting
   » capability to interpret stream and wetland restoration design plans
   » Excellent communication and organization expertise
   » Knowledge and knowledge of Microsoft Office 

What will make you stand out?
   » practice in collaboration and/or leadership abilities within industry trade associations;
   » Knowledge of Functional Assessments including, but not limited to the Stream Quantification Tool (SQT) and/or the Hydrogeomorphic Approach to assessing wetland functions (HGM);
   » Construction management practice with ecological restoration projects
   » Geomorphology data collection and processing;
   » Conducting ecological assessments;
   » Performing wetland delineations, stream determinations, vegetation surveys and/or hydrological monitoring;
   » You have a project management certifications
