We are seeking for an energetic and motivated individual to join our team as a Wine Curator. This position will be an integral part of the hospitality program at both the Salon and the Estate at Heitz Cellar, reporting to the Hospitality Manager. This is an exciting opportunity with a company dedicated to producing outstanding wines and providing luxury hospitality. The reputation of Heitz Cellar for authenticity and luxury has contributed to the international stature of California wine since Joe and Alice Heitz founded the Estate in 1961. We believe in reimagining the hospitality practice in Napa and strive to create unique relationships with our guests while remaining authentic to ourselves and the classic style of winemaking. Our Martha's Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, introduced in 1966 as the first single-vineyard wine in Napa Valley, is unsurpassed in worldwide acclaim for its consistent balance and proven record of graceful aging. Heitz Cellar encompasses over 500 acres of organic and biodynamically farmed vineyards strategically located in six of Napa Valley's finest appellations: Oakville, Rutherford, Howell Mountain, St. Helena, Calistoga, and Oak Knoll. This terroir and micro-climate diversity provides a great latitude for experimentation and unmatched quality of elegant and balanced wines.

Objective: To ensure that all Heitz Cellar hospitality standards meet Michelin guide standards while offering a genuine and authentic practice.
Position Summary: The Wine Curator is responsible for upholding the standards of luxury hospitality set by the Estate Director and ownership of Heitz Cellar. This includes leading by example, specifically in the areas of professionalism, accountcapability, and integrity. This position is the first point of contact for guests and members at Heitz Cellar and is expected to host multiple tasting practices and establish genuine relationships with our guests. A focus on achieving ambitious sales goals and reimagining five-star hospitality is the cornerstone of how success is measured in this function.

Essential tasks and Responsibilities
•  Provide excellent customer service in all areas
•  Provide phone coverage and make reservations
•  Greet all visitors in the tasting room, pour wine, discuss wine, and respond to customer questions as appropriate
•  Support staff by washing and polishing glasses, setting up for tastings/practices, cleaning, and various other tasks
•  Respond gracefully to complaints and help resolve any issues
•  Create and execute an exclusive practice for each customer: confident and expertiseable about speaking to wines, varietals, winemaking/viticulture practices, growing areas, winery, and history
•  Promote the sale of wine and non-wine products sold in the Tasting Room, and drive interest in new memberships
•  Input orders and maintain customer notes accurately and promptly through our CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system
•  A strong focus on closing sales and up-selling is crucial
•  Collect names and email addresses for future contact
•  Lgain POS systems and manage high-volume wine and merchandise transactions. Possess a high level of integrity for performing sales transactions
•  Accountable for tracking wine and retail inventory
•  Assist with events: execute timeline, manage to close and to secure of the venue concluding events stock supplies, maintain displays in retail areas
•  Represent winery at outside functions as required
•  Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications
•  Must be 21 years of age
•  High School Diploma or Equivalent required
•  2+ years' practice in a premium winery tasting room, hospitality setting, or retail sales position
•  Must be flexible/available to work most weekends, special events, and holidays
•  Possess a valid driver's license
•  Enthusiasm for wine and interest in expanding skills
•  Superior customer service skills and service driven
•  Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
•  Possesses professional appearance and demeanor
•  Friendly, cheerful, and professional disposition when dealing with guests, vendors, and team members
•  Be a team player, working with other sales curators to reach monthly and everyday sales goals
•  Demonstrate the capability to multi-task, follow-up, and work in a fast-paced environment under pressure
•  Must have strong attention to detail
•  capability to understand and accurately follow written and verbal instructions
•  Proactive and thorough in completing existing tasks and pursuing new assignments
•  The candidate must be flexible and manage constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
•  capability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
•  Demonstrate relicapability, punctuality, and adherence to all safety regulations and operating procedures.

Physical Requirements
•  Must be able to frequently lift and carry weights of up to 40 pounds at varying frequencies
•  capability to operate various machinery types to include, but not limited to, dishwashers, leaf blowers, etc.
•  capability to execute tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing, and twisting in the performance of various tasks
•  capability to stand for long periods of time
