This position may be eligible for a telework schedule once onboarding into position is complete and with manager approval.

Primary Purpose of Position This position serves as the Business Services Coordinator for the School of Data Science.
Responsibilities include:
   » Managing all aspects of financial-related process: projecting spending, monitoring budget, tracking expenditures, transferring funds, reconciling department accounts between Banner and shadow database, and run expenditure reports as needed.
   » Assists with part-time faculty hiring and reappointment and processing contracts for Teaching adjunct (TAs), Instructional adjuncts (IAs) and other hiring as needed.
   » Handling purchasing, reimbursement, processing revenue receipts for events.
   » Assisting with travel requests or serving as a delegate for travel request in Concur system.
   » Other tasks as assigned by College Business agent or Director of SDS.
Minimum Education/practice Required Minimum Appropriate qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and practice. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

University Preferred Appropriate qualifications:

Four year degree in a related business function and two or more years of practice in accounts reconciliation, business processing, office management, or human resources; or an equivalent combination of training and practice.

Essential Job tasks The Business Services Coordinator manages a variety of tasks and processes for School of Data Science:
   »Financial management : reconciliation of different types of funds, data entry into the department shadow database, spending projection, expenditures tracking, event revenue deposits and budget revisions.
   »Purchasing : use 49ermart to process orders, vendor requests, contracts, waiver of competition.
   »Travel : lgain how to use Concur system to assist with travel and Pcard processing.
   »Hiring : responsible for part-time faculty hiring and reappointment and contracts for all Teaching adjunct (TAs), Instructional adjuncts (IAs) and other hiring.
   » Assists and provides guidance to department on the financial issues.
   » Other tasks as assigned by College Business agent or Director of SDS.
Other Work Responsibilities
   » Coordinates with post-award team to assist with grant reconciliation and spending management as needed for the PIs working within SDS and collaborative units to SDS.
   » Serves as a back- up for the other admin support staff in the unit.

   » Bachelors Degree in business administration or a related field.
   » Prior practice working in higher education (minimum 3 years) preferred.
   » Finance or accounting practice needed.
   » practice preparing, analyzing, and revising detailed budgets.
   » practice working with Banner, 49erMart, and NinerWorks preferred.
   » practice and familiar with hiring process and HR (NinerTalent) system preferred.
   » practice with Microsoft and Google suite needed.
   » capability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines.
   » Critical thinking expertise and decision-making.
   » Strong attention to detail needed.
