Job Summary The Athletics Department is seeking a Head Coach: Women's Soccer. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE),12-month, professional faculty position.

The Head Coach provides leadership abilities, vision, and strategic planning for the OSU Women's Soccer Program. This position manages all aspects of an intercollegiate athletic team, which includes but is not limited to: management of academic success, budget management, recruiting, teaching/coaching soccer expertise, planning and execution of workouts, scheduling opponents, maintaining program integrity with respect to NCAA, PAC-12, OUS, and OSU rules and regulations, equipment ordering, travel planning, and fundraising.

Key Responsibilities 30% COACHING / INSTRUCTION
Provides general leadership abilities and training for a team of 15-40 college aged women. Directs workouts and coordinates with strength and conditioning for appropriate dry land training. Teaches and coaches specific soccer expertise and strategies. Provides a safe environment for workout and independently makes decisions regarding the nature of workouts given the weather conditions. Provides a balanced environment for students to pursue academic endeavors. Provides leadership abilities, supervision and direction for assigned staff. Plans, assigns and reviews work. Establishes goals for each position and assesses performance through completion of evaluations. Hires, trains and promotes employees. Disciplines or effectively recommends discipline up to and including dismissal. Addresses grievances, developing a framework for corrective actions as necessary.

20% leadership abilities AND VISION
Provides a long-term strategic plan for the Women's Soccer Program that will lead to overall athletic and academic success. Will maintain program integrity with respect to NCAA, PAC-12, OUS, and OSU rules and regulations. Encourages and participates in activities that foster an environment that is diverse, equitable, inclusive, and fosters a sense of belonging for both student athletes, student workers, colleagues, and all stakeholders.

20% RECRUITING
Recruits potentially prosperous students to Oregon State and has the capability to creatively verbalize the OSU niche opportunities in each recruiting situation. May have one-on-one access to persons under the age of 18. Travels as necessary to evaluate and contact recruits, which requires the coach to maintain a current, valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.

10% BUDGETARY OVERSIGHT
Proposes and maintains an annual budget. Provides sound accounting and tracking principles and practices to keep up to date on current balances. Delegates, as necessary, but is responsible for all issuances of state funds. Makes sound, independent purchasing decisions located on budget analysis. Plans travel accordingly and within the guidelines of the budget.

10% EQUIPMENT PROCUREMENT / USE
Maintains all equipment and prudently and independently purchases new equipment when needed located on experiential analysis.

10% FUNDRAISING
As directed by the Athletic Director, participates in OSU fundraising activities, which will include appearances and public speaking.

What You Will Need
   » Bachelor's degree in field of choice.
   » Coaching practice at the collegiate or professional level OR professional playing practice in lieu of coaching practice.
   » Demonstrated capability to communicate in a manner that shows respect and inclusivity for student athletes, student workers, colleagues, and all stakeholders.
   » Demonstrated familiarity with NCAA rules and regulations.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must prosperously complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.

This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must prosperously complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030.
