Position Summary:
The Grant Writer II is responsible for all aspects of grant activities in compliance with the organization and department goals and objectives. This includes developing and executing a comprehensive and aggressive program to generate grant support from existing sources and new opportunities via Feeding America, private/corporate foundations, federal and state programs, local municipalities, civic and religious groups, etc.
The core responsibility of this function is to identify target audiences, build relationships, organize, communicate, manage, and execute grant activities. this function will actively research and submit proposals that support our strategic initiatives, steward donors, prepare Letters of Intent/Inquiry, and coordinate interdepartmental inputs. This is a multifaceted function that will challenge you to manage a full range of activities that are required to prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals and reports. this function will involve a high level of confidentiality in knowledge and documentation.
Primary Job responsibilities:
• Manage full range of activities required to prepare and submit grant proposals and reports, including writing, editing, proofreading, and monitoring of grants life cycle.
• Ensure database, correspondence and files are organized and current and ensure that all proposal submissions comply with stated requirements and guidelines.
• Ensure that proposals and grant reports are submitted in a timely fashion, preferably in advance of deadlines.
• Support and align with Philabundance cultural pillars. Ensure communications, actions and interactions reflect a focus on People, Professionalism, Partnerships, and Progress.
Additional Job tasks:
• Develop and cultivate contacts among grantors and potential funding sources.
• Actively lgain new things on own initiative and deliver options, tools, and solutions to the team.

Qualifications
Educational Achievement
• High School Diploma or GED a plus.
• Additional formal education in Communications, Writing, Marketing or Social Services preferred.
Work practice
•Minimum of 2 years of practice with developing proposals for foundation, corporate and institutional donors.
•practice in a non-profit organization with an knowledge of development activities and donor relationships.
•practice using strong writing expertise to influence, convey information and combine information from a variety of sources.
•practice working in sales, customer service, marketing, or another target audience-focused environment.
•practice working in a team environment where solutions, teamwork and collaboration were heavily utilized to meet a goal. This could be in a work, academic, volunteer or project environment.
•practice working with databases, creating, and running reports, managing accurate input, and managing data quality.
•practice working with a diverse workforce in a support function, ideally requiring administrative support.
•practice managing projects or activities with competing priorities.
•practice tracking projects or activities which include deadlines, collaboration, multiple contacts, and multiple locations.
Preferred
•Previous practice handling financial responsibilities, tracking cash and check flow, and automated money systems with requirement to process with a sense of urgency and follow up.
