The candidate will have the opportunity to work in a large collaborative study on cavitation erosion with NSWC Carderock Division and the University of Michigan. In addition, the candidate will work at the Metal Additive Manufacturing Laboratory (MAML) at the University of Memphis. This is a 12-month research position in the Department of Mechanical Engineering in Dr. Amir Hadadzadeh's research lab. Minimum Qualifications · PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or another significant field · A strong academic record as evidenced by publications in peer-reviewed journals · Excellent written and oral communication expertise · Research practice in the following areas: microstructural characterization (SEM, EBSD, TEM) and mechanical characterization (quasi-static and high-strain rate mechanical testing, microhardness, nano-indentation) · Capable of printing components on the EOS-M100 and M290 L-PBF systems · Good expertise in project planning, project management, and documentation · Currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment, the department will not provide sponsorship Applications are to be submitted via https://workforum.memphis.edu .
