Minimum practice/Education High School Diploma/GED. practice with the care of Orchids.

   » Preferred practice growing/maintaining orchids.
   » Demonstrated capability to manage one's own time efficiently and effectively.
   » Working expertise of orchids, their care and materials needed.
tasks and Responsibilities
   » Work in collaboration with Greenhouse Manager and Horticulturists to improve the orchid collection of the Botanical Gardens.
   » Watering, fertilizing, dividing, propagating, and repotting orchids as needed.
   » Collaborate with other staff to research, source and purchase orchids for Gardens collection.
   » Collaborate with other staff to maintain and update orchid database.
   » Appropriately document flowering cycles.
   » Provide Greenhouse Manager with purchase requests for supplies needed.
Other Work/Responsibilities
   » Collaborate with garden staff to create orchid displays in McMillan Greenhouse.
   » Utilize, organize and maintain a variety of tools and materials.
   » Welcome guests to the Gardens and answer questions as needed.
