Job Summary The School of Writing, Literature, and Film invites applications for a full-time (1.00 FTE), 9-month, fixed-term, adjunct Professor of Teaching position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the School Head.

Appointment at the adjunct Professor rank is anticipated; however, a higher rank may be considered depending upon the qualifications of the prosperous candidate.

This position consists of teaching (70%), research (20%), and service (10%). The teaching load is seven courses over three quarters annually (fall, winter, and spring terms), and entails lower- and upper-division undergraduate courses, including general education courses, and/or graduate seminars. Mentoring of students, including advising of theses, is expected at both the graduate and undergraduate level. Service includes committee-work for the School, College, and University.

Key Responsibilities 70% Instruction : Teach a total of seven undergraduate and graduate courses annually in areas of specialization and in alignment with School needs, both in-person and online; advise students to achieve academic success and direct theses; contribute to curriculum development and programmatic growth.

20% Research : Maintain a strong record of scholarly/creative work; deliver presentations at regional/national/international conferences; publish peer-reviewed research in reputable venues.

10% Service : Provide service to the School, College, University, and profession; engage in outreach efforts to local, regional, and international communities.
