Science History InstituteThe Science History Institute is recruiting for a part-time (20 hours per week), limited duration (one year) Collections Specialist. The Collections Specialist will assist the Head of Collections Management and Registration to organize collection information related to artifacts and objects in our off-site storage facility. The Collections Specialist will also assist in locating, scanning, and data parsing from object and donor files; researching and compiling a list of similar collecting institutes; and creating a detailed objects spreadsheet.The ideal candidate will possess the following Appropriate qualifications: » Minimum of one year of collections practice in a museum or gallery » Bachelor's degree in museum studies, history, or similar curriculum » Knowledge of collections management databases and data entry standards; practice using PastPerfect is a plus » Proficiency of museum collections best practices and methods » Object handling practice is a plus » Exceptional verbal and written communication expertise » Strong project management expertise, with the capability to prosperously manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail Education Level: Bachelor's Degree To Apply: To be considered for this position , please send cover letter, resume, and contact information for three professional references to the link provided.
