Federal Work Study (On-campus) - Undergrad Library adjunct (ILL):Rice UniversityJob description:Federal Work Study (On-campus) - Undergrad Library adjunct (ILL)Bookmark this Posting Print Preview | Apply for this JobPosition DetailsPosition InformationAdvertising Department LIBRARY SERVICES-JOYNER Academic Term/Year Fall 2024/Spring 2025 Position Title Federal Work Study (On-campus) - Undergrad Library adjunct (ILL) Posting Number 06514 Position Number 06514 Student Job Category Student - Federal Work Study On-Campus Number of Vacancies 2 Job Description ECU Department of Library services is seeking students to assist the Interlibrary Loan department with processing physical and electronic library materials to share with ECU students, staff, and faculty and partner libraries around the world. tasks include: • Opening and sorting the department's incoming packages from the US Postal Service, UPS, FedEx, etc. • Preparing materials for patron use and packaging materials for shipping to other libraries. • Pulling physical items from all over the library's collections. • Scanning books, journals, microfilm, and microfiche materials to create PDFs. • Processing requests using ILLiad (a specialized interlibrary loan database software) and other library software, databases, and research tools. • Locating articles and chapters from all over the library's electronic holdings and saving copies to send to patrons/libraries in compliance with resource licenses and copyright guidance. • Assisting with other department tasks, including checking shelves, invoicing, and organizing supplies. Attention to detail is an absolute must. We prefer a regular schedule during 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, Monday-Friday; no weekends, nights, or holidays are required. Our department offers flexible scheduling to cater to the needs of our students. These positions begin in Fall 2024 and may continue into Spring 2025. Preferred (Majors, practice, GPA, etc.) Depending on a student's personal interests and expertise there is potential to assist in the department with webpage editing, statistical analysis, data visualization, creating outreach materials, technical writing of instructions and forms, workflow analysis, and assisting with faculty librarian research/co-authoring.
