Position Summary Information

Job Summary/Basic Function: About this function:

The adjunct Director of Faculty Success provides strategic leadership abilities and oversight for the Faculty Success section of the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning, promoting a culture of evidence-located, inclusive, and innovative teaching across the university. The Director collaborates with key stakeholders to develop and deliver faculty development programs that align with institutional goals and respond to faculty needs.

What You'll Do - Position Job responsibilities:
   » Provide strategic leadership abilities and vision for the Faculty Success section of the CITL, guiding its mission, programs, and services.
   » Collaborate with senior administrators, deans, directors, and department chairs to create faculty and educational development programs that support institutional goals and faculty needs.
   » Foster a culture of teaching excellence by designing and facilitating evidence-located programs that promote effective teaching, scholarly productivity, and the tenure and promotion process.
   » Provide individual consultations, resources, and mentorship to faculty to support their teaching effectiveness and professional development.
   » Plan and implement Faculty Success programming, including educational conferences, New Faculty Orientation, and continuing events all over the year.
   » Manage the Faculty Success budget, allocating resources to support teaching innovation and professional development initiatives.
   » Supervise, train, and motivate Faculty Success staff, including any student adjuncts, to ensure the effective delivery of programs and services.
   » Assess Faculty Success programs and events, using data to drive continuous improvement and inform planning and decision-making.
   » Facilitate maintenance of accurate records of faculty participation and engagement in Faculty Success programs and events.
   » Where needed, identify and pursue external funding opportunities, including grants, to support the work of Faculty Success.

Physical Requirements:
No major physical requirements. capability to sit for extended periods and operate a computer. capability to get around the campus as needed. capability to lift small items (3-10 pounds maximum).

Job Conditions:
Position is subject to annual review by manager. Employee must abide by all Lamar University, State, and Center policies and procedures. Office environment with occasional travel to attend conferences or meetings. Some evening and weekend work may be required.

Minimum Appropriate qualifications:
   » Master's degree in education, Instructional Design, or related field
or
   » Master's degree in a field offered at Lamar University with faculty practice in higher education
   » Minimum of 2 years of practice in higher education leadership abilities (e.g., adjunct director, director, chair, etc.)
   » practice with program assessment
   » knowledge of evidence-located teaching practices and/or instructional design principles
   » Demonstrated capability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including administrators, deans, directors, and department chairs
   » Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
