Colorado Public Radio (CPR) is seeking a Vice President of Donor Development.
This is not a remote position. Our VP of Donor Development is expected to reside in the Denver Metro area upon starting.
About the Position:
The Vice President of Donor Development reports to the SVP, Audience & Development, and leads all audience and philanthropic fundraising for Colorado Public Radio - including membership and leadership abilities giving, vehicle donations, foundation support, legacy giving, special project campaigns and CPR's current Capital Campaign - to achieve annual revenue goals and long-term sustaincapability to support CPR's mission and strategic priorities. this function has responsibility for the majority of CPR's revenue and supervises the development group, which consists of three teams and will have three direct reports (Executive Director of leadership abilities Giving, Membership Director, and Director of Development Services). The function also serves as a senior member of the Audience & Development division which consists of Development, Marketing and Digital Platforms - and the overall CPR leadership abilities Team of department and division leaders.
This is a new function developed as part of the strategic combining of CPR's development and audience divisions with a vision to create an integrated and comprehensive audience to donor journey. In addition to leading the development group this function will collaborate with division and cross division departments and functions.

To do so, you rely on your top-notch time management expertise to prioritize multiple initiatives.
Minimum Appropriate qualifications:
   » A minimum of 5 - 7 years of progressively responsible senior management practice and a proven capability to provide leadership abilities and direction to others. This practice should include the following -
   » Comprehensive expertise of fundraising principles, strategies and best practices, including major gifts, grants, individual giving, planned giving and digital fundraising. This should include a demonstrated capability to take ownership of fundraising results, being responsible for meeting targets and transparently reporting progress.
   » practice cultivating, soliciting, stewarding and engaging donors to build strong relationships. This should include practice with personally asking individuals for gifts and familiarity with proposal and grant writing processes. This should also include working with cross-functional teams on fundraising initiatives.
   » expertise of the non-profit landscape, including challenges, regulations and opportunities within the sector.
   » Financial acumen, including practice budgeting, producing and analyzing financial reports, and managing resources to effectively plan and execute fundraising initiatives.
   » practice with data management, including data analysis, interpreting metrics and trends to make informed decisions and to optimize fundraising strategies. This practice should include familiarity with fundraising software, CRMs, and data analysis tools to track and manage donor information effectively.
   » Familiarity with ethical fundraising practices and legal requirements related to fundraising and donor data management.
   » While not required, it's preferable if you have practice with public speaking at organization events and conferences.
