Purpose: The Director serves as the senior housing agent for the College and is the primary contact for Moore College community members on all matters relating to residence life and housing. Requirements: » Master's degree, preferably in Student Affairs, Higher Education Administration, Counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education » A minimum of 2 years work practice in residence life, including supervision of student staff and housing occupancy management for 350 beds+. » Strong people expertise, including working with all constituencies at the College and with vendors and other groups outside the College. » capability to work constructively as part of a team in coordinating the opening and closing of halls; capability to provide high customer service to students, parents, faculty, administration, and groups outside of the College. » Required to live on or close to campus. Job responsibilities: 1. Manage and supervise all aspects of Residence Life & Housing » Supervise, evaluate, select, train, and develop the student residence life staff. » Participate in 24/7 emergency on-call rotation with lead responsibilities on weeknights. » Coordinate the residence life staff training program with the training for other student leaders. » Administer housing program, including room selection for returning students, updating housing contracts & agreements, room assignments for new students, etc. » Mediate roommate conflicts, respond to parent inquiries, initiate conduct proceedings that involve residents, assess requests to break housing contracts, etc. » Coordinate, with the Director of Operations, maintenance, upgrade, and purchases related to the residence halls. » Coordinate, with the Director of Operations, security in the residence halls. » Supervise Moore Shuttle Bus Driver (s). » Serve as staff liaison with Sage Dining Services. 2. Program & Activity Management » supervise the development of residence life programming and living/learning curriculum. » Collaborate with Student Affairs staff to plan training for all student leaders. » Work with the Student leadership abilities Board to supervise selected committees and events. » Collaborate with the Student Affairs staff to execute large-scale programming all over the year. Serve as Chief Hearing agent » Receive incident reports, and meet with students to discuss conduct issues. » Monitor student compliance with sanctions. » Select and train Student Conduct Committee and set up hearings, as needed. » Investigate alleged violations of the student code of conduct. » Update the College's Annual Security Report. 3. Summer Housing Rentals and Programs » Coordinate summer housing with other significant offices at the College, including Continuing Education for Summer Art and Design Institute (SADI). » Select, train, supervise, and evaluate summer resident adjuncts/SADI counselors. » Supervise Summer Residence Life & Conference staff, including Interns & SADI Housing adjuncts. » Serve as a staff member in charge of summer housing rentals. » Serve as liaison to outside groups housing people at Moore during the summer, including contract negotiations, programming, and budget. 4. ID System: » Participate with the Student Affairs Coordinator to split the following ID Job responsibilities: » Make IDs for all new students, faculty, and staff. » Replace lost/stolen IDs. » Deactivate IDs. » Program access levels and run reports, when needed. 5. Other: » Serve as contact person for the College's contract with Planet Fitness. » Serve with the Dean of Students, the Director of Health Services, and the Mental Health Counselor on a committee to monitor students for potential crises. » Share on-call duty responsibilities with the Student Affairs staff all over the academic year and with the Dean of Students during the summer. » Serve as a coach for the Summer Bridge Program. » Create and administer curriculum for one cohort of the VHP leadership abilities Path program » Assist with the editing of the student handbooks. » Manage agreements with local parking garages. » Other tasks as assigned. Physical Demands/Working Conditions: This is a 9-5 position that has weekend and evening responsibilities for programming, training of student staff, and supervising students living in the residence halls. Information technology includes being on call during the week and one weekend per month, as well as being available for emergency calls.
