Job Opportunity: The World Audio Engineer:GBHJob description: The World Audio Engineer Listing description » DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW The World is a one-hour, nationally distributed weekday radio public affairs program co-produced by GBH and PRX. The show offers a mix of news, features, interviews, and music from around the globe, developed specifically for an American audience. The World's companion website, theworld.org, offers a similar mix of news and features along with slideshows, videos, blog posts, podcasts, and interactive graphics that expand on the radio content. The World and theworld.org use social media and other significant tools to maximize user engagement and enhance the user practice. JOB OVERVIEW The World Engineer works closely with The World's editorial and digital staff in assuring the quality of the overall sound of a live, everyday current affairs program. This involves running the live board, mixing radio stories and ensuring all equipment is in working order. Thispositionis located in Boston, MA in our Brighton Office and is an on-site position. What you get to do: What expertise you need: EDUCATION AND practice Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work practice. 1-3 years' practice in the production and broadcast of audio programs including some practice engineering a live news show.
