Ziemke Architecture focuses on high-end residential architecture in New York City, the Hamptons, Connecticut, and abroad. We have a number of exciting projects in the works, with more always in the pipeline, and so are seeking an ambitious junior architect/designer to join our team, in the Flatiron District. tasks & Responsibilities » Able to take design concept drawings and sketches and develop into preliminary working drawings, collaborating actively with principal and/or project managers » Must have some familiarity with how to represent building materials and/or details in drawing form » Jump between projects to help individual project managers with drawing production, with periodic interaction with the principal » Visit job sites to record existing conditions, take meeting notes expertise &Abilities » Preferred - exposure to or 1-2 years working in a residential architecture or design firm » Bachelors/Masters of Architecture » Fluency in English, written and spoken » Clear communication expertise, written and spoken » Familiarity with 2D CAD drafting and layer management » High level of attention to detail » practice in AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, and SketchUp/Rhino » Driven attitude with a desire to work in a small office environment, with the need to shift between multiple projects in production » Desire to work in high-end, single-family residential architecture » Be eligible to work in the US and be located in the NYC area Work Environment » The office works on Mac OS » Some travel may be required, mostly regional » M.
