This position is designated as ?mandatory' and, when contacted to report to work, its incumbent is expected to reach the campus as expeditiously as possible using normal precautions as dictated by the adverse weather conditions.

Primary Purpose of Position The position is considered to be fully functioning in a particular trade area. Additionally, this position is expected to be able to execute all general maintenance work. This position may also be given the opportunity to execute/lgain another trade. Tasks may include maintenance, repair, placement, fabrication, installation, alteration, and construction of facility components in the Housing Shop.

Minimum Education/practice Required Minimum Appropriate qualifications:

Graduation from high school or equivalent. practice in the trade(s) areas related to the position's function may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Essential Job tasks The FM Tech Mechanical Trades performs under the direction of the Maintenance Operations Housing Shop manager.

tasks include but are not limited to:
   » Responsible for performing routine maintenance of HVAC and refrigeration equipment to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and/or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
   » You are equipped with the necessary expertise and expertise to use electrical test devices to troubleshoot and repair HVAC equipment.
   » Assist in diagnosing mechanical problems and determine how to correct them by checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
   » Use standard hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
Other Work Responsibilities
   » Act as a contributing worker and provide assistance to other facility maintenance technicians.
   » Work with supervision or instruction, and complete work with competence and professionalism in compliance with generally accepted trade practices.
   » Communicate effectively with customers, and managers, and provide high-quality customer service located on University policy and procedures.
   » Record everyday activities in an order tracking system (CMMS).
   » Perform other tasks as assigned and/or delegated to support all operations.
Departmental Preferred practice, expertise, Training/Education
   » High school diploma or GED equivalency.
   » Associate's degree from an accredited institution preferred in HVAC or Engineering Technology.
   » practice in installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
   » E.P.A. 608 Refrigerant certification
   » capability to effectively communicate the English language (reading, writing, interpretation, and comprehension) required.
   » Effective expertise in verbal, written, and interpersonal communication.
   » Computer literate.
   » expertise and skill with Google Chrome, Microsoft Word, and Excel, and availability to lgain new programs.
   » capability to effectively work/interact with persons from different backgrounds.
   » capability to foster and create an atmosphere of teamwork.
   » A valid driver's license is required. The HVAC Shop position requires the operation of assigned vehicles on and/or off campus and is required to possess, maintain, or obtain a valid driver's license upon appointment to the position.
   » Selected candidates must have the mental and physical capabilities to execute the is essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
Necessary Licenses or Certifications
   »A valid driver's license is required. The HVAC Shop position requires the operation of assigned vehicles on and/or off campus and is required to possess, maintain, or obtain a valid driver's license upon appointment to the position.

Positions may be required to possess and maintain required certification, licensure, educational level, and/or practice criteria as applicable to the tasks being performed and follow applicable building codes.
