Minimum Position Appropriate qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in significant area and two years of appropriate practice. An equivalent combination of education, training and practice may be substituted for the degree requirement.

Special Conditions: This is a grant-funded position contingent upon funding availcapability.

The career specialist will be housed at the following location (2-3) times a week: the Stanton Outreach Center (an extension of the American Job Center) in Stanton, TN.

The employee is required to travel to Memphis team meetings and for events.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday
8:00am - 4:30pm
May need to work/travel beyond normal work schedule.

expertise, expertise, and Abilities: The primary responsibilities of this position are to recruit, enroll, and provide eligible participants with industry expertise, training, and industry credentials along with job placement to flourish personally and professionally as they transition into a quality job with a prevailing wage in the Midsouth region.

The person must work with minimum supervision to ensure that all components of the Good Jobs Challenge Grant, called the Upskill Mid-South program goals, are met.

Job tasks

tasks & Job responsibilities: Provides direct customer service to candidates at the Stanton Outreach Center by interviewing and collecting eligibility documents from interested customers for appropriate careers, individualized employment, training, and supportive services. Makes referrals to assist individuals with needs through the online referral portal to partners in the AJC.
Screens and assists students in registering for industry expertise training and potential work-located learning opportunities. Works directly with the American Job Centers and the local community colleges to connect students to accelerated expertise training programs approved by Upskill Mid-South.

tasks & Job responsibilities: Identifies and recruit participants leveraging the business service unit at the American Job Centers. Actively recruit customers and collaborate with local training providers, schools, businesses, and agencies.

tasks & Job responsibilities: Matches participant expertise and practice with employer requirements in advancement manufacturing, logistics technology, or construction. Supplies information about approved training and training providers to potential students who qualify for this program and keep expertise training calendars updated and posted at the American Job Centers.

tasks & Job responsibilities: Documents participants' progress, needs, goals, and services provided to participants using Qualtrics system software and builds and maintains a participant paper file. Prepares reports on students and activities as required.

tasks & Job responsibilities: Accurately monitors and tracks participants' weekly activity progress for grant reporting by regularly checking in with training schools.

tasks & Job responsibilities: Develops and facilitates orientation/training for industry accelerated expertise training for potential student candidates.

tasks & Job responsibilities: Prepares monthly and quarterly update reports.
The employee must be able to execute the position's essential functions satisfactorily.
