Organizational Background
InLiquid is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to connecting artists and audiences in the Philadelphia region. Founded in 1999 by Rachel Zimmerman, InLiquid began as a nonprofit online digital platform designed to build a more equitable and accessible visual arts culture in the greater Philadelphia region. We strive to mobilize and make our area's visual arts culture accessible by providing a better support system for local artists and nurturing the public's appreciation of visual art, which, in effect, builds Philadelphia's infrastructure for the creative economy. We help foster the artistic practices of hundreds of visual artists each year and encourage audiences to collect work from our dynamic arts community. InLiquid makes the work of our region's artists accessible to all, providing free contemporary art programming in our gallery, satellite spaces all over Philadelphia, and virtually. We also provide professional development support to our artist members to help them excel and grow outside their studio practice.
