As the regions only academic OBGYN department, the primary functions of the department are to teach obstetrics and gynecology to medical students, resident physicians, post graduate students, nurses and other allied health professional, provide evidence-located and comprehensive clinical service to the region, and conduct clinical research featuring our rural mission. Job tasks The sonographer performs certain dynamic testing in the provision of care to designated obstetric and gynecologic patients in a tertiary level medical center. The sonographer assists the physician in the performance of certain other ultrasound and medical procedures. Minimum Education/practice Associate's degree in medical sonography, cardio/vascular sonography, or related discipline; or equivalent combination of training and practice. Some positions may require additional training, certifications, or licenses. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
