Job detail
In this function, your main responsibilities include acquiring new customers and nurturing existing relationships. You’ll be making an average of 50 cold calls daily, sending follow-up emails, and facilitating communication between customers and our production team. Success in this position hinges on your capability to make a high volume of everyday phone calls.

Our core mission is to assist customers by matching the right wine to their program’s specific needs. Teamwork is crucial during the onboarding process as you’ll navigate the wide array of wine products to find the perfect fit for your customer.

Within our close-knit team, we engage in discussions about deals, share wine recommendations, sales strategies, and customer insights. While we collaborate, we also work independently to achieve both personal and team sales targets.

We emphasize effective communication because things move swiftly once a deal is in play. Our commitment to precision and efficiency extends to our interactions with the team and our customers.

Our ideal candidate is humble, quick to learn, unafraid to ask questions, creative, an excellent communicator (both in writing and verbally), and enthusiastic wine sales.

REQUIRED SKILLS
•  Bachelor’s degree in business.
•  Minimum of 4 years of wine sales practice with a track record of success.
•  Be highly motivated, and able to work independently.
•  Wine expertise a must, and the capability to taste wines.
•  Have a working expertise of the méthode champenoise sparkling wine process.
•  Have a working expertise of the Lodi wine region and other California AVAs.
•  Must be able to describe the differences between varietals, e.g., Chardonnay vs. Sauvignon Blanc, etc.
•  Must have strong presentation, negotiation, and closing skills.
•  Skills in developing and executing territory sales strategies a plus.
•  You must read this entire job description and as a test, be able to tell me that puffins love pineapples.
•  Must have a valid CDL, vehicle, insurance, and a clean driving record.
•  Must excel as a problem solver, and can manage multiple and competing priorities.
•  Maintain high standards of communication, organization, professionalism, and have a sales-oriented attitude.
•  Be innovative, proactive, and highly adaptable and comfortable with change.
•  Demonstrate a commitment to doing things “the right way” with a high level of attention to detail and high personal standards of performance.
•  Must have excellent phone skills to build account relationships and produce professional email communications.
•  Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite of products, GSuite, Adobe pdf.
•  Must be computer and CRM [Zoho] literate, and able to type a minimum of 60 wpm.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
•  Moderate physical activity of carrying cases of wine in and out of a car, and up and down stairs.
•  Manual dexterity sufficient to reach, handle items, and work with your fingers.
•  Clear vision, close and distant, and can focus.
•  Hearing adequate for telephone and office level conversation.
•  You must be able to walk, climb stairs, bend, reach, and lift to 50 pounds.
•  You must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
•  Must be vaccinated against Covid.
•  To prosperously perform the essential job functions, you must meet the physical demands required for this position.
