Job Summary The College of Engineering is seeking an hourly Academic Wage: Research Associate. This is a part-time (0.10 FTE), 12-month, fixed-term position. This position conducts research activities related to testing and measurement of specimens provided by an outside company through the Materials Testing Fee Book account. The research focuses on isothermal aging or impedance measurements of the provided specimens, under controlled temperatures and atmospheres. This also includes a comprehensive analysis of the data culminating in a written report. Key Responsibilities Testing and Measurements (90%): Conduct isothermal aging or impedance spectroscopy measurements on supplied specimens, including calibration, and analysis. Written Report (10%): Write up the results into a report to be supplied to the company. Work collaboratively with staff, faculty, and students to create a safe, respectful, and inclusive research environment. What You Will Need » PhD in Chemistry or Materials Science » Significant practice with temperature dependent electrical measurements on bulk ceramic specimens. » Record of publishing peer-reviewed articles on electrical measurements on ferroelectric and piezoelectric materials. » practice working effectively with diverse groups of students, researchers, and staff. This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must prosperously complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
