Posting DetailsPosting InformationPosting Number: FAE1854 Advertised Title: Clinical Asst/Assoc Professor - Director of Simulation (Nursing) Campus Job location: Park Avenue Campus (Memphis, TN) Position Number: 016265 Job Category: Full-Time Faculty Department: Loewenberg College of Nursing Position Summary: » Collaborates with nursing faculty to develop simulation scenarios to promote student learning, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making. » Coordinate with program directors to ensure that simulation practices meet course and program objectives. » Assists with faculty development and training related to the use of simulation. » Coordinates with the Director of Undergraduate Programs and the lab manager(s) to supervise the use and schedules of the Simulation Center for special simulation sections, open labs, and clinical expertise evaluations. » Participates in collecting evaluation data on learning results for simulation activities and collaborates with faculty to disseminate findings of their students' results. » Utilizes simulation best practice standards to plan, design, implement, and evaluate simulation integration within nursing courses (both didactic and clinical). » Stays current and flexible in simulation and technology development in higher education, health care, and academic nursing. » Provides supervision of the laboratory manager(s), simulation faculty, staff, and student workers to manage nursing laboratories effectively. » Develop and implement laboratory policies and procedures. » Assesses lab inventory regularly to ensure adequate supplies. » Maintains oversight and function of lab equipment and, if necessary, determines the need for replacement or repair. » Builds external partnerships and seeks interprofessional opportunities to enhance nursing simulation. » Generates reports and documentation as requested by the Dean or Associate Dean. » Up to a 50% academic teaching load may be assigned. Minimum Position Appropriate qualifications: Required Appropriate qualifications: » Doctoral Degree in Nursing or a Master of Science in Nursing with current enrollment in a doctoral program in nursing with anticipated completion by 2026 from an accredited program; licensure or eligibility for licensure in Tennessee. » A minimum of one year of clinical practice is required. » Prior teaching or working in simulation. Preferred Appropriate qualifications: » A minimum of three years of clinical practice is preferred. » Willing to obtain simulation certification within one year of assuming the position.
