Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill two part-time (a maximum of 20 hours per week) Collaborative adjunct positions for the School of Psychological Science at Oregon State University (OSU).

The Contemplative Studies Initiative is expanding programming with the opening of a Contemplative Practice Center in downtown Corvallis. The Collaborative adjuncts will leverage significant interests and expertise to provide administrative, housekeeping, creative, customer service, and operations support for the center and a range of Contemplative Studies programs and activities.

Position tasks
   »20% Customer Service:
   » Respond to CSI general inbox
   » Greet clients
   » Process purchase transactions
   » Answer client questions
   » Share about program and center activities
   » Set a tone for a welcoming, friendly, supportive contemplative practice environment
   »20% Site Maintenance:
   » Plant care
   » Sweep floors
   » Launder small towels
   » Clean and organize props
   » Provide housekeeping for one single-use bathroom
   » Remove trash and recycling
   » Run off-site errands
   » Maintain a clean space and a welcoming and bright aesthetic
   »20% Support:
   » Assist with additional projects and tasks as needed. This may include site design, program development, regular or substitute teaching of studio classes, running studio errands, supporting specific events or initiative activities, and supporting staff teachers and CSI coordinator with tasks.
   »10% Marketing:
   » Organize, monitor and write on our social media channels (Instagram, Facebook)
   » Assist in designing, writing and sending newsletters
   »10% General Administrative
   » Maintain records on sales, class attendance, and product usage
   » Train in and utilize technological tools such as Drupal, TouchNet and others to streamline studio operations
   »10% Design & Web:
   » Organize and change website content and update online schedules
   » Collaborate to design, develop and disseminate media products and program materials (i.e. handouts, graphics, webpages, posters, presentations, etc.)
   »10% Accountcapability:
   » Attend meetings as requested and maintain regular communication with manager for progress updates
   » Open and close building for scheduled everyday hours of operation by locking and unlocking doors, arming/disarming building, turning on and off lights, and securing assets
   » Establish and maintain operating procedures for practice center

   » Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
   » Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
   » Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
   » High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
   » Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
   » Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
   » Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
   » Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*

*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered ?full-time? by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.

   » 1+ years academic and/or personal/practical background in contemplative studies or any contemplative practice or tradition
   » 1+ years in a customer service, teaching, or administrative function
   » Exceptional communication expertise, especially standard written and spoken English

   » Exemplify discernment and sound decision making

Preferred (Special) Qualifications
   » Specialization in one or more of the following: teaching yoga, meditation, or another contemplative practice, graphic design, indoor plant care, marketing, customer service, information technology or other directly applicable, specialized expertise.
Working Conditions / Work Schedule
   » Estimated 9 hours per week each for two collaborative adjuncts; could potentially range from 6-18 hours per week depending on student availcapability and center workload. The student worker may be required to work up to an approximate 20 hours per week.
   » Schedule is generally M-F during the 9am-6pm timeframe.
   » Some weekends/evenings when events are occurring, as agreed upon on a case-by-case basis.
   » Running local errands in personal vehicle may be a small portion of this function (less than 20%).
   » The Contemplative Center is located at 648 SW 2nd Street in Corvallis - student will need to be able to get to/from the center regularly for work commitments. There may be occasional tasks/staff meetings on the Corvallis campus in Milam Hall.
