Job Summary The College of Engineering, School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science invites applications for a full-time (1.00 FTE), 9-month, fixed-term adjunct/Associate/Full Professor of Practice position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the School Head.

The position is expected to initiate new funded research as well as expand, complement, and collaborate with existing research programs in the School, the College of Engineering, and beyond. The position is also expected to execute tasks related to teaching, student advising, advancing appropriate research and other scholarly activities, and service activities. As a Professor of Practice, the position is expected to initiate, grow and/or sustain external collaborations with other universities, government agencies, the private sector, and other sectors in order to advance university research and education goals.

Key Responsibilities 40% Teaching and related tasks:
Teaching of undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Materials Science or Electrical and Computer Engineering.

25% Research and scholarly activities:
Research, scholarship, mentoring students and management of multidisciplinary research programs.
Draw upon industry relationships to support and promote research engagements.

30% External engagement:
Initiating, growing, and/or sustaining collaborations with external organizations including, but not limited to, other universities, government agencies, the private sector, and other sectors to advance the teaching and research mission of the University.

5% Service:
Service to the School, College and/or University. Participate in regional and national professional service activities.
Foster an inclusive and collaborative environment for faculty, staff, and students.

What You Will Need Minimum/Required Qualifications for all ranks (adjunct/Associate/Full Professor of Practice):
   » PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or other related discipline prior to position start date.
   » 5 years' practice in the semiconductor or related industry.
   » Demonstrated capability or significant potential for independently developing and sustaining external collaborations.
   » Demonstrated capability or significant potential for leading and collaborating in innovative research.
   » Demonstrated capability or significant potential for excellent teaching and/or mentoring.
   » Demonstrated capability or significant potential for attracting the necessary funding to sustain a vigorous research program.
   » Proven oral and written communication expertise.
   » Commitment to fostering and inclusive and collaborative environment for faculty, staff, and students.
   » For candidates seeking to be hired at a rank other than adjunct Professor, they should meet the OSU teaching, advising, research and service criteria for appointment at the desired rank (see the OSU Faculty Handbook for details). Minimum/Required Qualifications at the ranks of Associate or Full Professor of Practice:
   » 15 years' practice in the semiconductor or related industry.

   » Demonstrated capability for excellent teaching and/or mentoring.
   » Demonstrated capability for attracting the necessary funding to sustain a vigorous research program.
