Job Offer: Northport, NY, US Wed, Sep 18 '24 Project:Suddell Architects & BuildersJob description:Project ArchitectEmployer:Suddell Architects & Builders Job location:Northport, NY, US Published:Wed, Sep 18 '24 Type:Full-time Project Architect / Draftsperson An established architectural firm is seeking a highly skilled Project Architect / Draftsperson with a minimum of 7 years of practice in developing construction documents for residential and small commercial projects. A graduate degree in architecture is preferred, but we welcome candidates who can demonstrate broad expertise of residential building construction. Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential. We are seeking for a candidate available for immediate hire who can seamlessly integrate into our team and hit the ground running. Key Job responsibilities: » Accurately and efficiently measure existing site conditions. » Convert field measurements into precise AutoCAD drawings, ensuring comprehensive documentation of existing conditions. » Develop detailed construction documents from presentation sketches, including the capability to calculate structural elements using BeamCalc or similar software. » Create accurate floor plans, building sections, and elevations. » Coordinate and communicate effectively with clients, engineers, and contractors. » Conduct construction site visits as needed. » Handle administrative tasks such as emailing, phone correspondence, digital filing, and organizing project files. Required expertise & Appropriate qualifications: » In-depth expertise of wood frame construction, structural systems, MEPs (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing), and building codes. » High proficiency using Auto Cad » capability to manage multiple projects, with strong organizational expertise and attention to detail. advantages: Full-time position (Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM).
