Job Summary The School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Oregon State University (OSU) seeks to fill multiple full-time (1.00 FTE), 9-month, tenure-track or tenured position, at the rank of adjunct, Associate, or Full Professor, in the areas of high-performance computing (HPC) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Appointment at the adjunct Professor rank is anticipated; however, appointment at a promoted rank may be considered depending upon the qualifications of the prosperous candidate.

The position will have a focus in high-performance computing (HPC), artificial intelligence (AI), and/or closely related areas that advance the university's strategic objectives. The appointment is anticipated to be at the rank of adjunct Professor, but rank of Associate Professor or Full Professor many be considered. Upon appointment to the faculty, rank will be determined commensurate with qualifications. The position expected to initiate new funded research as well as expand, complement, and collaborate with existing research programs in the School, the College of Engineering, and beyond

The position is expected to execute tasks related to teaching, student advising, advancing appropriate research and other scholarly activities, and service activities. Key Responsibilities 50% Teaching and related tasks:
   » Teaching of undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Computer Science.

40% Research and scholarly activities:
   » Research, scholarship, mentoring students and management of multidisciplinary research programs.

   » Service to the School, College and/or University. Participate in regional and national professional service activities.
   » Foster an inclusive and collaborative environment for faculty, staff, and students.
What You Will Need Minimum/Required Qualifications for all ranks (adjunct, Associate, or Full Professor):
   » PhD in Computer Science, or other related discipline prior to position start date.
   » Demonstrated capability or significant potential for effective teaching.
   » Demonstrated capability or significant potential for leading and collaborating in innovative research.
   » Demonstrated capability or significant potential for attracting the necessary funding to sustain a vigorous research program.
   » Proven oral and written communication expertise.
   » A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing the diversity and excellence of the academic community.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must prosperously complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.

Minimum/Required Qualifications at the ranks of Associate or Full Professor:
   » Demonstrated effectiveness and leadership abilities in teaching.
   » Demonstrated effectiveness and leadership abilities in research.
   » Demonstrated capability for attracting the necessary funding to sustain a vigorous research program.
   » For candidates seeking to be hired at a rank other than adjunct Professor, they should meet the OSU teaching, advising, research and service criteria for appointment at the desired rank (see the OSU Faculty Handbook for details). OSU will consider previous years of practice at other, similar institutions towards timelines for rank or tenure promotions.
What We Would Like You to Have Preferred Qualifications at all ranks:
   » Evidence of strong independent research, mentorship, and grant writing
   » practice in industry, government, and/or university labs.

Preferred Qualifications at the rank of Associate or Full Professor:
   » capability to build collaborative ties within the College of Engineering, research centers (e.g., Huang Collaborative Innovative Complex (HCIC), Collaborative Robotics and Intelligent Systems (CoRIS) Institute), University and beyond
