Organizational Unit Overview The Department of Economics ( http://economics.ecu.edu ) is one of 16 departments in the Thomas Harriot College of Arts and Sciences at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. The Department is comprised of 15 full-time faculty. We provide students with a broad overview of fundamental economic issues significant for policy makers, analysts and consultants, managers in companies large and small, individual entrepreneurs running their own businesses, or even those who aspire to become academics by pursuing doctorate degrees. Our program is primarily applied in nature and provides students with opportunities to develop technical expertise necessary for conducting rigorous statistical analysis but also introduces them to current economic issues by engaging them in cutting edge research with our faculty. To these ends, the department offers a BA degree and four concentrations within our BS undergraduate economics degree; a master's degree in Quantitative Economics and Econometrics; and a coastal and marine economics and policy concentration within the coastal resources management doctoral degree program. The Department strives for excellence in teaching, high-quality impactful research, and service to the university, community, and Economics discipline.

Job tasks This position will serve as adjunct to the Chair of the Department of Economics and to the Director of the Economics Graduate Program. This position will provide administrative, clerical, and office management support in an academic department of 15 full-time faculty members and 7-10 student graduate adjuncts. tasks include the following: preparing and maintain all personnel records and departmental budgets (operating budget, grant overhead budget, and Foundation accounts); preparing purchase orders, and maintaining computer and equipment inventories; supervising one SHRA employee; and serving as liaison for the department with other units on campus.

Minimum Education/practice High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to execute the work.

   » expertise of standard office administration practices and procedures, in addition to proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
   » expertise of EHRA and SHRA personnel policies, travel guidelines, and other applicable university and state policies and procedures, including working expertise of PORT, Work Order System, Resource 25, Effort Reporting System, and Banner Financial, Student, and Human Resources modules.
   » Strong interpersonal and organizational expertise are also preferred.
