Position Summary Information

Job Summary/Basic Function: About this function:

This position requires the capability to execute multiple tasks simultaneously with accurate results. By providing a wide variety of professional and administrative support for the Vice President/CIO and the leadership abilities Team in support of Central Information technology Services.
This position is not eligible for sponsorship.

What You'll Do - Position Responsibilities
   » Provides professional administrative support to the Information Technology Division.
Performs receptionist activities for all areas of the Information Technology Division,
including good customer service; greets visitors and students and ensures phone calls
are answered promptly and directed appropriately. Serves as an Information technology Liaison among
leadership abilities, internal and external customers, the public and the Lamar Community.
   » Maintains and coordinates multiple calendars for the Vice President/CIO, AVPs and
Directors. Reserves and coordinates multiple meeting spaces and enters all approved
employee vacation or sick leave to appropriate calendars.
   » Maintains all student, hourly and part time worker's timesheets, EPAF's, on-boarding,
terminations, timesheets, and bi-weekly payroll.
   » Assists VP/ CIO and Information technology Business Manager in meeting divisional goals/standards by
gathering data for and processing annual reports and responding to questionnaires,
surveys, BOR Reports and the ITS strategic plan.
   » Prepares all travel request and expenditures for VP/CIO and expenditures for all IT
employees.
   » Plans events such as TSUS CIO Meetings, divisional luncheons, holidays and maintain
community informational board.
   » Assists Inventory Specialist with annual inventory and surplus inventory.
   » Maintains personnel records and trainings for all employees.
   » Assists with general tasks such as deliveries on-campus, mail pick-up, copying papers,
filing, shredding, troubleshooting in covering current and prospective customers
questions/issues, etc. Maintains supplies and equipment in Reaud Workroom.
   » Performs other tasks as assigned.

   » Demonstrate expert expertise of office management skills.
   » Skill in using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail, and Internet Navigation.
   » Word process at least 55 words per minute
   » Communicate using excellent verbal and written skills.
   » Demonstrated relicapability in attendance and punctuality.
   » Skill in using photocopiers, FAX machines, multi-line phone systems and other office machines.
   » capability to understand and follow moderately complex oral and written instructions.
   » capability to effectively and tactfully interact with students, customers, vendors, and the general public.
   » capability to deal with several events at once, while effectively completing assigned work in a timely manner.
   » capability to work cooperatively with fellow employees and managers.
   » capability to work in fast paced situations.
   » Adhere to university and to Information Technology policies.
Physical Requirements:
   » Able to lift 15 lbs and be able to execute a variety of physical tasks including lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, stair climbing and walking between buildings.

Minimum Appropriate qualifications:
   » Associate degree or two years of college coursework related to job functions, or combination of education and practice in related field (2 years of practice = 1 year of formal education)
   » One year of secretarial or office practice required
