Job Summary The Division of Extension and Engagement is seeking an Outreach Program Coordinator. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position. This position will be located at the Extension Curry County Office in Gold Beach, Oregon.

This Outreach Program Coordinator serves Curry County and is located at the OSU Division of Extension and Engagement's (Division) Extension Curry County office in Gold Beach, Oregon. This individual is a member of the local, regional and statewide team of the OSU Extension 4-H Youth Development program and the OSU Extension Family & Community Health's SNAP-Ed program. This 4-H/FCH Program Coordinator reports to the Regional Director assigned to the Coastal region. Decisions regarding this position are made in consultation with the supervision team which includes the 4-H Youth Development Director/Program Leader, the SNAP-Ed Associate Program Leader, and the Coastal Regional Director.

This 4-H/FCH Program Coordinator is responsible for the management, promotion, and delivery of a diverse portfolio of educational programming that meets the needs of youth in Curry County. All 4-H and FCH faculty are expected to use best practices in positive youth development to ensure that educational programs are of high quality and produce their intended results. Programs are implemented in a manner that measures impact, fosters program improvement, and strengthens community connections. The position maintains the physical, emotional, and psychological safety of youth and volunteers by adhering to all university, federal, state and local laws, policies, and procedures.

This 4-H/FCH Program Coordinator works broadly with volunteers, in managery (program management) and collaborative functions. The individual in this position must have excellent interpersonal skills and the capability to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, youth, other educational and youth development programs, volunteers, families, community partners, associations, camp administrators, elected and appointed board members, and county employees. The program coordinator must be attentive to detail, able to teach adults and youth, and adept at promoting and marketing to adult and youth audiences.

This 4-H/FCH Program Coordinator is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining and/or carrying out educational programs and outreach activities to serve broad and diverse populations, including those that have been historically marginalized/excluded from participation. This includes complying with Civil Rights and Language/Visual Access regulations

In addition to responsibilities within Curry County, this 4-H/FCH Program Coordinator is expected to contribute to regional and state educational team efforts related to the incumbent's skills and interests, such as county and state fairs, summer camps, annual conferences and other activities as assigned.

This position requires driving/traveling. Active and effective communication with staff and key stakeholders is critical to the success of this position, wireless access may be necessary.

About Extension 4-H Youth Development Program:
4-H provides young people with intentional, high-quality learning practices that promote positive interactions with adults and peers, sustained and active participation across time, and opportunities to make significant contributions to the world around them. This mission is accomplished through the work of volunteers, youth, community members, and professionals who organize and conduct learning practices in club, group, community, and family settings. Programs are implemented in a manner that is consistent with the best practices in the field of youth development and respectful of local norms and culture.

4-H Faculty teach, develop materials, coordinate digital outreach activities and provide administrative oversight to a broad array of programs through out of school, after-school, in-school, and camping programming. This position supervises all 4-H programming and supervises volunteers with skills in project areas (e.g., health, outdoor adventures, livestock, shooting sports, leadership abilities, civic engagement, and robotics). Some 4-H practices involve travel and overnight accommodations. 4-H faculty are required to assure compliance with Federal and State regulations related to youth protection, fund-raising, taxation, and the nonprofit status of 4-H and affiliated organizations. Key Responsibilities 45% - 4-H Program Management
   » Provide oversight and leadership abilities for the OSU Extension 4-H Youth Development Program in the County.
   » Develop internal and external partnerships that enhance 4-H youth development programming, and OSU Extension in the County.
   » Organize and maintain program advisory and management committees and/or networks to identify program needs, mobilize local resources, make recommendations, and assist in program implementation.
   » Engage community partners and community members in a culturally responsive manner.
   » Create positive and productive practices for all youth and volunteers by ensuring access to quality programming, including a safe and supportive environment and opportunities for significant engagement for all.
   » Foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement by ensuring that assessments and programming are informed by the needs and voices of participants and community members representing the diverse backgrounds and cultural identities of the County.
   » Collaborate with regional and statewide 4-H (and other program areas) faculty members to enhance effectiveness.

30% - Program Teaching/Implementation
   » Facilitate educational programs for adults and youth, in partnership with extension staff, local partners, organizations, and youth and adults within the community.
   » Develop and deliver non-credit educational programs to address priority emerging needs within the communities in the county.
   » Develop and provide educational materials, program information and outreach activities using digital communication and engagement tools and systems, such as the Extension website.
   » Employ best practices of positive youth development engagement and 4-H program model theory.
   » Develop and teach non-credit educational programs for adults and youth (e.g., 5-19 years of age) in content areas germane to achievement of positive youth development results through various delivery methods, including school enrichment, after-school, community clubs and camps.
   » Conduct volunteer development opportunities for new and existing volunteers to promote the best practices of positive youth development research, risk management, teaching, coaching, leadership abilities and group management skills.
   » Adapt teaching strategies and program implementation to serve a wide variety of populations, including those that have been historically marginalized/excluded from participation.
   » Create research-located educational materials (handouts, curriculum, media located) and/or utilize existing research-located materials to support the delivery of educational programs.
   » Travel/driving is essential for providing educational programming and services all over Curry County.

15% - SNAP-Ed Program Delivery and Management
   » Develop, participate, and provide oversight and leadership abilities to a comprehensive and diverse portfolio of non-credit programming focused on the community health needs of Curry County, including nutrition, food safety, physical activity, and health promotion.
   » Collaborate with community partners to identify areas for policy, system, and environmental change.
   » Implement strategies/interventions in the school/community environment that support and encourage healthy eating habits and physically active lifestyles. Implement programs in a manner that measure impact, reach a broad and diverse audience, foster program improvement, and strengthen community connections
   » Develop an annual plan of work (SNAP-Ed) covering educational needs as well as evaluate the quality and impact of educational programs provided to audiences as appropriate.
   » Utilize best practices from the fields of public health and the human sciences, design systematic investigations into the relevance, quality, or effectiveness of Extension programs and communicate the results of these investigations to significant peers and publics. Report on outputs and impacts of program efforts in online reporting systems.
   » Engage community partners and community members in a culturally responsive manner.
   » Participate actively as a member of a SNAP-Ed program work group.
   » Serve as an effective team member of the SNAP-Ed Program.

5% - Organizational Accountcapability
   » Use digital communication and technology as a tool to increase the reach and impact of program delivery on constituents, including participating with Ask Extension and using the division's customer relationship management system. These activities should be included in the annual plan of work, impact statements, and summary of accomplishments/achievements.

   » Use multiple methods of digital communication to collaborate internally and externally as appropriate.
