Offer: Senior Institute Associate:Georgetown UniversityJob description:Job InformationSenior Institute AssociateBack to listTitle Senior Institute Associate Organization Georgetown University Job detail Job Overview The Senior Institute Associate works with the Center’s Mitigation Program Director and Associate Director to conduct advanced research and writing assignments, manage complex projects, present to external audiences, conduct outreach and coordinate with outside partners and contractors, including the following: » Lead projects involving policy and legal research, analysis and writing on significant energy and emissions mitigation topics. » Represent the Center at conferences, dialogues, events and with the media. » Coordinate development and maintenance of content for the Center’s website. » Supervise and coordinate work of research adjuncts, outside contractors, staff and outside partners. » Serve as a high-functioning team member with leadership abilities responsibilities. » Identify and respond to opportunities for funding and outreach. Work Interactions Reporting to the Mitigation Program Director of the Georgetown Climate Center, the Senior Institute Associate interacts with senior local, state and federal officials; faculty and Georgetown senior administration; outside partners; funders; members of the media; and students. In addition, they interact with and supervise the work of research adjuncts, students and outside consultants. Qualifications Requirements and Qualifications Master's degree or a J.D. or equivalent work practice At least three years' practice in environmental law and policy, climate change policy or a related field Excellent research and communications skills (writing and speaking) Strong interpersonal skills, oral and written communication, professionalism and sound judgment practice with management of complex projects with multiple external and internal partners and collaborators practice with working with or for local, state, tribal, or federal government Preferred Qualification We are particularly seeking candidates with practice and legal skills regarding federal and state power sector policies and regulations and/or energy infrastructure siting.
