Minimum Qualifications» Bachelor's degree in information systems, security, computer programming, networking, or other closely related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning» Minimum of seven years of information technology management practice, with at least five years in a leadership abilities function within a higher education setting or comparable complex organization » Demonstrated practice in information technology strategic planning and execution, cybersecurity, network and infrastructure management, and team leadership abilities » practice in developing information technology policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines » Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards and state and federal statutes » Excellent written and verbal communication expertise, interpersonal and collaborative expertise, and capability to work under pressure in emergencies

Position DescriptionThe Chief Information agent at Lenoir Community College is responsible for superviseing the Information Technology Department and leading the development and implementation of a comprehensive information technology strategy that supports the educational and administrative objectives of the College. The Chief Information agent will ensure that the information technology infrastructure is reliable, secure, and efficient and will foster innovation to enhance the College's educational environment and operational effectiveness.The tasks of the Chief Information agent include, but are not limited to: » Lead the development and implementation of effective and reasonable policies and practices to ensure information security » Lead the Information Technology Department, including recruitment, training, and development of information technology staff; foster a collaborative, innovative, and performance-oriented environment » Manage the information technology budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and cost-effective procurement of technology solutions » Collaborate with academic and administrative departments to understand their technology needs and challenges, ensuring the information technology strategy supports all aspects of college operations » Stay abreast of emerging technology trends and assess their potential impact on the College » Promote the adoption of new technologies that enhance learning, teaching, and administrative processes » Ensure compliance with significant laws, regulations, and policies » Develop and maintain plans for information technology disaster recovery and business continuity in the event of emergencies » Direct the everyday operation of the Information Technology Department, analyzing workflow, establishing priorities, developing procedures, and setting deadlines » Maintain licensing agreements and service contracts for hardware and software » supervise the implementation of the College's computer migration plan » Responsible for the development, review, and testing of all backup and disaster recovery procedures and plans » Ensure the security of the information systems, network environment, and equipment » Evaluate the College's technology use and needs and recommend improvements, such as hardware and software upgrades » Support and manage various college information systems and software Working Conditions » Typical office environment » Frequently sitting at a desk or workstation using a telephone, computer, keyboard, and mouse » Some standing and walking Special Instructions Priority consideration will be given to applications received by July 31, 2024 however; applications will be accepted until the position is filled. income will commensurate with qualifications and practice.
