Preferred Qualifications· Two or more years of practice developing IT-related training curricula in a private or public setting.· Two or more years of practice teaching and evaluating IT-related courses in seated, Web-enhanced, and online formats. · Familiarity with a course management such as Canvas · expertise and/or practice with learning results assessment · Demonstrated innovation within the field of education and/or technology · Evidence of effective problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills · Evidence of a career that includes a strong work ethic with a proven track record of project completion, multi-tasking, and the capability to handle high-pressure environments · Evidence of a availability to accept responsibility for professional and personal growth
Position DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Information Technology Instructor is a full-time, 12-month instructional staff position that provides quality learning opportunities that assist students in meeting their educational goals and career aspirations in the Associate in Applied Science program. This individual has responsibility for teaching and learning, curriculum development, advising, professional development, institutional service, and community relations. Licenses and/or certifications used for credentialing purposes must be kept current by the employee, unless noted otherwise. Job tasks · Create classroom activities and learning environments that meet the needs of all learners, including high school students, adult learners, and senior populations. · Exhibit an uncompromising commitment toSPCCas a learning-centered college through the College's mission, vision, values, core skills and learning results, and delivery of instruction and services · Demonstrate skills in one or more of the following areas of core competency - Support - Infrastructure - Databases/Programming - Data Analytics - Cyber Security - Web Development - Project Management · Develop learning strategies and curriculum that will promote prosperous teaching and learning in a learning-centered environment · Facilitate learning through classroom activities, distance learning practices, workforce development, and out-of-classroom activities · Actively participate in continuous improvement planning through the assessment of learning results at the course and program levels · Select and use appropriate learning materials and resources, including textbooks, library resources, equipment, and supplies to enhance learning and to maintain program currency · Stay current with developments in the field of technology and learning theory · Stay current with developments in the discipline by earning additional industry-recognized credentials as assigned by the manager · Demonstrate high-level professionalism in developing and/or implementing long- and short-range plans in conformity with the philosophy of a learning-centered college · Participate in institutional, advisory, and program/instruction committees, campus activities, and representation of the college in the community · Develop strong partnerships with appropriate community stakeholders in support of program and college improvement · Stay current with developments in the discipline by earning additional industry-recognized credentials as assigned by the manager · Participate in program reviews, conduct research and surveys, and prepare updates, reports, and plans · Continue professional development for the improvement of self and the program to meet the needs of a learning-centered college · Maintain current licensure, certification, or other professional credentials required for the position · Provide accessibility to students and colleagues as expected in a learning-centered college · Accept teaching assignments, located on the needs of the college, at one or more of the following: L.L. Polk campus (Polkton), Old Charlotte Highway campus (Monroe), in high school and community locations (Anson and/or Union counties), or in a corrections setting (Anson county) · Accept teaching assignments scheduled during the day, evening, weekends, or online · Participate in student recruitment, retention, advising, and registration activities · Participate in or support the mentoring process, theSPCCFoundation, and grant identification, preparation, implementation, and evaluation · Perform other tasks as assigned by the immediate manager, the dean, or the Vice President
