The Permitting Manager, Transmission will be responsible for evaluating federal, state/provincial, and local municipal permitting requirements to support construction of transmission infrastructure projects. this function will work on our client’s projects, leading the permitting efforts for these projects and other infrastructure types.

tasks AND Job responsibilities:
   » Serves as an environmental subject matter expert and provides technical skills and judgment to resolve basic environmental issues.
   » Prepares and submits permit applications and renewals.
   » Maintains current knowledge on environmental laws and regulations and a working knowledge on the scientific and technical aspects of regulatory requirements and how they may impact Transmission Projects.
   » Strives to continually develop and improve expert technical knowledge and skill to ensure that department expectations are met.
   » Leading project teams for key clients
   » Leading business development efforts
   » Managing and directing routing/siting studies, analyses, and connected reports
   » Working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams which could include engineers, attorneys, planners, permitting and environmental specialists, and real estate experts.

Qualifications
• 7-10 years of practice managing environmental permitting and planning projects, for a variety of energy-related projects
• capability to work independently and provide guidance and leadership abilities to mid-level to senior level team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC.
• Proven Article VII Application and EM&CP practice
• practice in preparing proposals and presentations, and price structuring
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, defining and knowledge client requirements, managing expectations, and communicating with clients and project staff
• broad critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to reach conclusions from testing results, data collation, and identify the most effective solutions to accomplish objectives of assigned projects.
• Must be flexible to a variety of schedules to meet business needs and able to prioritize responsibilities and quickly adapt to change in a pressure work environment.
• Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
