Colorado Public Radio (CPR) is seeking a Technical Operations Center Manager.
About the Position:
The Technical Operations Center (TOC) Manager supervises and manages the TOC operations, TOC specialists and Traffic Analyst in ensuring quality control by monitoring services, troubleshooting broadcast systems, managing special coverage, ensuring continuing scheduling of sponsorship spots and billing, assisting on-air and fundraising staff and responding to emergencies. this function supports CPR's four main broadcast services - News, KRCC, Classical, and Indie - and the Sponsorship team. The TOC Manager will evaluate systems and with other technical leadership abilities, determining the best tools to accomplish CPR broadcast system efficiency and effectiveness.
This is not a remote position. The TOC Manager is expected to reside in the Denver Metro area upon starting.
About You:
You are an adaptable manager with an knowledge of audio automation, traffic and studio routing systems. You are an excellent verbal and written communicator and have a talent for explaining technical issues to generalists. You have attention to detail, practice troubleshooting studio and computer systems, the capability to stay calm in emergency situations, and a knack for helping your team members improve and diversify their expertise.
Minimum Appropriate qualifications:
   » A minimum of 5 years practice with operating and providing support for a studio control board, practice troubleshooting computer systems, and an knowledge of audio automation, traffic and studio routing systems.
   » A minimum of 3 years in management, with practice in growing and developing team members.
   » practice with using windows workstations, windows server operating systems, remote access software, and office productivity software.
   » Excellent verbal and written communication expertise and the capability to translate technical issues to staff with less technical familiarity.
   » practice remaining calm during emergency situations.
   » Detail and process oriented with practice in evaluating policies and procedures.
   » It's preferred to have knowledge of public radio news and music formats and practices.
   » It's also preferred to have knowledge of FCC regulations for radio broadcasting.
   » While not necessary for hire, the TOC Manager must attain their Society of Broadcast Engineers Certified Radio Operator certification within their first year.
Education Equivalency:
   » Bachelor's degree or a combination of equivalent education and practice.
