Job AnnouncementPosition InformationPosition Title: Graphic Designer (Part-Time) Campus: Cranford Department: College Relations Full-time, Part-time, Adjunct: Part Time Exempt or Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt Regular,Temporary, or Grant: Regular General Description: Within the Department of College Relations and under the direct supervision of the Creative Services Manager, this position will support the College's creative and design needs. This includes creation and preparation, from concept to production, of detailed graphics, conceptual and finished artwork and visual aids for College projects in both digital and physical production-ready formats. Characteristics, tasks, and Job responsibilities: • Prepare designs and production layouts for brochures, catalogs, presentations, direct mail, college identity, and web/mobile sites • Determine the design, layout and formatting of materials. Integrate typographic, photographic, illustrative and graphic elements Education Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts or Graphic Design is required, BFA is a plus. practice: • 3 years of professional graphic design practice Competencies and Skills Required: • Command a thorough knowledge of design and strong skills in various software applications that focus on design and graphic arts • Demonstrated knowledge of specific software applications including the Adobe Creative Suite and font management software • Proficiency in MAC platform required; working knowledge of PC platform and MS Office programs and capability to work in cross-platform environment are required. • Familiarity and practical knowledge of print production requirements and design for print • Self-starter, capability to identify issues and resolve problems • knowledge of brand management and brand communication Physical Demands and Work Environment: • This position's tasks are normally performed in a typical interior/residence work environment, located on the activity scheduled. • Some physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. • No or very limited exposure to physical risk. • Some travel required. income: $30/hour Additional Information : UCNJ Union College of Union County, NJ does not discriminate and prohibits discrimination, as required by state and/or federal law, in all programs and activities, including employment and access to its career and technical programs.
