General Summary
The adjunct Radio Operations Manager supports the everyday talk shows by acting as board operator and technical director. This position supports day-to-day operations of Connecticut Public's radio station and assists in the coordination and distribution of national and local content, promo management, studio technical operations, maintenance of automation servers, editing using Adobe Audition, and audio board operators. Provides additional technical support for Radio Original everyday and weekly shows, including live and pre-taped shows and interviews.
Essential Functions
A Radio Operations Manager provides a wide variety of services. candidates must have the capability to complete the following essential functions:
   » Conducts quality control of content before Information technology airs to meet required technical specifications.
   » Edits and assembles pre-taped segments and re-runs for live shows and works with producers to facilitate the live and taped broadcast show airing of news, feature, and other programmatic content.
   » Maintains and edits show promos across platforms and in areas like Marketing, Membership, and cross-promotional messaging.
   » Records and edits audio; produces and mixes content using audio equipment and digital editing software and compiles and edits material necessary for production, to include post-production and sound design.
   » Retrieves and edits content during live and taped shows for distribution on video, audio, on-air servers, and digital platforms..
   » Supports everyday and weekly show programming through board operations, onsite recordings and broadcasts, feature mixing, sound design, and technical support during live and pre-taped radio shows, remote productions, interviews, edits, or voice recording.
   » Works closely with the Radio Operations Manager to assist in the following functions:
   » Assists in superviseing and coordination of the continuous, multifaceted day-to-day operations of radio operations, ensuring compliance with FCC standards, and significant federal and state laws and regulations.
   » Coordinates with content creators to ensure on-time delivery of audio-to-automation servers for playout.
   » Maintains accurate schedules, records, discrepancy reports, follows-through on communications.
   » supervises all aspects of automation processes including quality control of everyday broadcast logs, broadcast schedules, and schedule templates-manipulates as needed.
   » Reviews and updates underwriter credits to ensure they meet technical specifications, and ensuring production adheres to format and procedural guidelines.
   » Solves complex technical issues related to DAVID Automation Systems.
   » Uses ProTrack to generate the broadcast logs for Connecticut Public Radio stations

Responsibilities
This position has many responsibilities. tasks include, but are not limited to:
   » Assists in promotions and outreach including live events and fund drives.
   » Assists in setting standards, operating procedures and provides/develops training for newsroom/radio staff to ensure that all best practices are being followed.
   » Assists with the integration of new technologies and new functions.
   » Assists with the setup and operation of live video streaming equipment, operating video equipment as needed; connects ISDN equipment, phone, Zoom and Skype for remote interviews.
   » Builds the on-air broadcast log, making changes as required.
   » Produces web content, including updates of web page, photography and photo editing in collaboration with the Visuals Team and Digital Services Bureau.
   » Supports audio visual needs for events or board meetings
   » Tracks music use for royalty reporting.

Work Environment
Job functions are typically performed in a combination of those found in general office or administrative work, but could incude some exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
Physical Demands
The physical activities of this position may include frequent in-person or virtual interactions. Information technology is essential to be able to remain at a desk/computer workstation for prolonged periods, speak clearly so others can understand, see details of objects that are between a few feet and more than a few feet away, focus on one sound an ignore others, use fingers to grasp move or assemble small objects. Additionally, the employee must have the capability to concentrate for extended periods of time with frequent interruption understand, and relate to, the concepts behind specific ideas, and compute formulas. The typical physical requirements are: light work-exerting up to 25 lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs of force frequently and may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion. These physical demands, with or without reasonable accommodations, are required to execute the essential functions of this job.
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position which may include frequent in-person or virtual interactions. tasks are routinely performed Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.; however, weekend, evening, and holiday hours will be necessary. The expectatio for this job is to be on-site, although there are opportunities for hybrid work.
Education and practice
Bachelor's degree in Broadcasting, Commuication, Journalism or a closelyrelatable field AND/OR a minimum of five (5) years of direct and sustained professional practice in positions directly related to audio proeduction or broadcasting AND/OR a satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training, and practice.
