Min Hourly Rate $14.70 (Standard); $13.70 (Non-Urban); $15.95 (Portland Metro) Max Hourly Rate $21.00 (Standard); $20.50 (Non-Urban); $21.50 (Portland Metro) Position Summary This is a part time Volunteer earnings Tax Assistance (VITA) Student Worker position to support OSU VITA site operations. prosperous candidates will meet with the VITA Site Coordinator and Program Managers as needed and help with VITA operations such as planning, training, scheduling, and operating weekly VITA services. The pay rate will be $20 per hour. Position tasks Average anticipated workload = 10-15 hours per week. Typical tasks include: attending weekly planning meetings, assisting with training, scheduling, client support, and tax preparation. Requires prosperous completion of IRS VITA Volunteer certification at the Advanced level. Minimum Qualifications Full Employment Eligibility Requirements can be found here: http://fa.oregonstate.edu/stu-manual/500-employment-eligibility-requiremen ts » Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study » Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment » Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard » High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program » Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term » Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term* » Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term » Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term* *International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered ?full-time? by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center. Preferred (Special) Qualifications Preference will be given to candidates that have prior VITA or other tax preparation practice. Preference will be given to students with prior professional service practice, such as internships in any business area involving client service or prior full or part-time practice significant to professional client service. Working Conditions / Work Schedule The job will require VITA Student Workers to work and help volunteers and taxpayers outside regular business hours. This will include weekday evening sessions and Saturday sessions. Both in-person and virtual work may be required.
