In pursuing this mission, the Department will provide guidance and instruction to students, maintain academic standards, retain productive faculty members, and support scholarly research and publication in recognized professional journals and presses. Job tasks Assist the chair, program directors, and department faculty in the timely performance of their tasks. Anticipate needs within the scope of this position's other tasks, alert chair to potential problems, ensure deadlines are met, maintain department budget, manage purchasing and inventory control, maintain appropriate amount of materials and supplies, ensure equipment is functioning, manage Foundation accounts, provide budget support for managing grant expenditures, manage travel reimbursements, create and print BIC, Banner, and other reports, provide clerical support for all personnel actions, input course and other scheduling requests, search for classrooms, move classrooms, schedule meetings, provide clerical support for preparing grant proposals, prepare travel requests, purchase airline tickets and make other purchases using ProCard, maintain department electronic and hard copy records, manage student workers, manage Kronos for student workers, produce flyers, announcements, and other publicity materials, print course materials and tests, hand-deliver sensitive materials to other campus offices, maintain confidentiality of confidential activities and records, adhere to ECU computer/email/internet security and other protocols, assist in preparing for and conducting graduation receptions, attend workshops, serve as the department's receptionist, taking meeting minutes, and maintain the department's Teams sites.
