Commensurate with Qualifications Position Location (City) Greenville Position Type Faculty (Teaching) Job Category Faculty (Teaching) Primary Function of Organizational Unit The mission and vision of the Department of Public Health in the Brody School of Medicine is to address health disparities in Eastern North Carolina through multi-disciplinary Public Health approaches. Eastern North Carolina has significant health burdens, especially in the rural, low-income, and racial and ethnic minority communities in our region. Many of these issues are brought to light through environmental impacts in our region, such as natural disasters and climate change, as well as through the social determinants of health, which is a major driving force for our teaching, research, and service. The Department of Public Health is also very collaborative in research and service and works with a number of local, regional, state, and national public health and healthcare agencies. Job tasks The College is seeking candidates for short-term, fixed-term faculty (.74 FTE or less) for one or more semesters during the upcoming academic year. Anticipated start date January 8, 2024 Contingent upon the availcapability of funds Minimum Education/practice Master's degree in a related field; All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation N/A Preferred practice, expertise, Training/Education Teaching practice with graduate and doctoral students. For current doctoral students those that have completed all coursework except the dissertation (?ABD?) will be considered.
