Join our dedicated team at Campus Recreation and Wellness (CRW) as an Aquatic Lifeguard/Swim Instructor! These functions offer flexible hours and the chance to gain valuable practice in supporting and managing aquatic programs and facilities. You will play a vital part in promoting the well-being of the campus community. CRW is committed to creating an environment of belonging and well-being and supports the Division of Student Affairs' commitment to purposeful well-being. Lifeguard Job responsibilities: » Ensure the safety and security of all patrons in the aquatic facility » Monitor activities in and around the pool to prevent accidents » Enforce all facility rules and regulations » Respond quickly to emergencies and perform lifesaving techniques, including first aid and CPR » Conduct regular safety checks of pool equipment and facilities » Assist with pool maintenance and cleaning tasks » Provide excellent customer service to patrons » Complete incident and accident reports as needed » Participate in regular training and in-service sessions to maintain expertise and certifications Swim Instructor Job responsibilities: » Teach swim lessons to individuals of all ages and skill levels » Develop and implement lesson plans » Provide feedback and encouragement to help participants improve their swimming expertise » Ensure the safety of all participants during swim lessons » Communicate effectively with participants and their guardians » Maintain records of participants' progress » Assist with swim program promotion and registration » Provide excellent customer service and build positive relationships with participants Preferred (Majors, practice, GPA, etc.) Appropriate qualifications: » Must be a current ECU student in good academic standing » Valid Lifeguard Certification (including CPR, First Aid, and AED) » practice in life-guarding and/or swim instruction preferred » capability to lift 50 lbs » Flexible work availcapability, including early mornings, nights, weekends, holidays, and ECU sanctioned breaks » capability to work independently and as part of a team for a minimum of 8-12 hours per week Special Instructions to Applicant Please upload your resume and copy of your certifications as Information technology relates to your area of interest online. https://crw.ecu.edu/about-us/join-the-crw-team/job-descriptions/ Quick Link for Direct Access https://ecu.peopleadmin.com/postings/72936 Open Date 08/06/2024 Close Date 09/20/2024 Open Until Filled No Supplemental QuestionsRequired fields are indicated with an asterisk (*).» * Do you currently have your Lifeguard certification, Lifeguard Instructor certification or Water Safety Instructor certification? » Lifeguard Certification » Lifeguard Instructor Certification » Water Safety Instructor Certification » No I'm not certified, but I would like yo get the necessary training.
