Records observations and measurements then reports results. Responsible for analyzing and preparing results for publication. Works under general supervision with a certain degree of creativity and latitude. May supervise junior research personnel. tasks may include: » Providing technical support in planning and/or designing of scientific projects, studies, or applications » Planning and conducting research and analysis of scientific data » Interpreting test results and comparing with determined standards and limits » Identifying and evaluating scientific samples and determining need for further testing » Developing recommendations and/or providing solutions, standards, and protocol to a wide variety of difficult problems » Planning, designing, developing, monitoring and/or evaluating portions of a scientific project, study, or application » Providing scientific evaluations/assessments » Researching, implementing, standardizing, and evaluating new procedures » Maintaining detailed records of results and prepares written reports acceptable to the Principal Investigator and funding agencies » Other tasks as assigned Qualifications Two years of post-bachelor's research practice related to the domain of this position Bachelor's degree in a wildfire, natural resource social science, or related natural resource discipline capability to travel Additional Preferred Master's degree in a wildfire, natural resource social science, or related natural resource discipline Formal training or practice in applied extension, outreach, or coordination of collective action, including demonstrated skill in coordinating or facilitating working groups or collaboratives covering environmental issues capability to design, implement and monitor outreach or extension efforts, with an emphasis on the co-development and implementation of collective natural resource or emergency management actions/agreements or plans capability to contribute toward broader University of Idaho research on wildfire management, emergency management, collaborative natural resource management, or related policy applications practice with qualitative and quantitative social science, economic or ecological methods for obtaining data capability to work with state agency land managers in the achievement of goals surrounding wildfire management and risk reduction capability to coordinate and facilitate various groups of stakeholders toward collaborative decisions that inform or utilize various forms of information (e.g. local expertise, scientific findings, joint fact finding) Oral and written communication expertise significant to scientific and natural resource management audiences. income Job Type Full Time practiced Location Grangeville, IdahoUnited States Posted on 2024-03-22 Expires on 2024-05-21 Desired Start Date Not provided How to submit the application: https://uidaho.peopleadmin.com/postings/43469 Skills:
