Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill six part-time (maximum of 24 hours per week) positions with the Guest practice team at PRAx, the Patricia Reser Center for the Creative Arts at Oregon State University.

Guest practice Associates will help with event setup, ticket scanning, ushering, and support the Box Office and Guest practice Manager and Box Office and House managers with on and off-campus events and will be assigned where needed on any given day.

Guest practice Associates will be familiar with the current and upcoming events at PRAx, the performing and gallery spaces, policies, and will display a high level of customer service.

Guest practice Associates will be required to lgain and follow the safety policies and procedures of PRAx. The position requires a demonstrated high level of discretion and sense of appropriateness, capability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor when working in stressful situations, as well as excellent
communication and customer service expertise. Guest practice Associates are expected to use good judgement, to conduct themselves professionally while at work, to follow the guidelines for proper work attire, and to be punctual and reliable.

This is a pooled posting. That means Information technology will stay open for several months and we will pull candidates from the ?pool? for interviews as openings occur, until the closing date, and possibly beyond.

Reports to: Box Office and Guest practice Manager

Varied schedule, up to 24 hours per week. Preference given to those who can work 12-24 hours a week. These positions will require evening and weekend work.

Position tasks tasks may include:

Customer Service
· Welcome, greet guests, and scan/verify tickets from event attendees.
· Politely direct and escort guests to their seats and/or venue entrances.
· Provide wayfinding of facilities and spaces at PRAx.
· Assist with crowd control and security.
· Attend pre-event meetings and other trainings as required by management.
· Visually sweep and tidy the venues to check for potential safety issues, lost and found items, and cleanliness.
· Have expertise and follow the proper procedures for assisting patrons with disabilities
· Demonstrate expertise of all spaces within PRAx and understand the evacuation procedures from all points within PRAx.
· Be punctual, work prosperously, and communicate professionally with guests and staff.
· Open and close building, gallery and venues according to procedures.
· Other tasks as assigned.

   »Bending or stooping; bending downward and forward by bending spine at waist or by bending leg/spine.
   »Twisting ; tuning the upper body while maintaining a stationary at lower body position.
   »Reaching ; extending hand(s) and arm(s) overhead, lower or horizontally of the body.
   »Standing ; particularly for extending periods of time.
   »Sitting ; particularly for extending periods of time.
   »Walking ; moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another. Excludes walking to/from work area or cafeteria, etc.
   »Lifting ; raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. capability to lift 40 lbs.
   »Fine Hand Manipulation ; fingering, picking pinching, typing or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than the whole hand a in a handle.
   »Pushing/Pulling ; using upper extremities to press against something with a steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward or to exert force in order to draw, haul, or tug objects in a sustained motion.
   »Frequently Grasping ; applying pressure to an object with the finger or palm.

   » Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
   » Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
   » Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
   » High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
   » Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
   » Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
   » Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
   » Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*

*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered ?full-time? by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.

   » Prior customer service practice.
   » capability to communicate professionally in a clear and concise manner with coworkers and guests.
   » Relicapability and punctuality are a must.
   » Guest practice Associates should arrive ready to work in approved dress code.
   » Guest practice Associates must follow PRAx safety procedures.
Preferred (Special) Qualifications
   » Previous prosperous practice working in events, live performance, customer service, or hospitality.
   » CPR certification is a plus.

   » Work in loud, busy, and potentially stressful environments.
   » Potential driving and possible travel to work at events offsite. capability to drive is preferred.
